Also, the monkeys have to work together to reach the bananas as they are too high up for a single monkey to reach on top of the ladder. The idea is that the monkeys stand on each other's shoulders to support each other so that they can get the bananas. However, when the one monkey goes up the ladder, he can't reach the bananas and when he asks for help, he gets no response. Eventually, the monkey on the ladder loses balance and falls to the ground. When the monkey asks the other ones why they didn't come with him and support each other, the rest of the monkeys either offer him no response or call him an idiot for climbing the ladder and trying to get the bananas.
