Just had a really good game in my Kongo that I would like to rewatch. In the process of adding wows to my Blitz YouTube channel. I know Jingles uses wows replays made in game so where is the button to view the replay at?

The thread below explains how to enable replays.

http://forum.worldofwarships.com/index.php?/topic/19170-enabling-wows-replays/

--------------------------

EXCERPT

There is no in-game UI function for this feature right now, so players will need to enable it manually through the following steps:

1. Close the game client.

2. Backup the "preferences.xml" file located in the game folder. You may wish to save this backup copy in a separate folder.

3. Open the original (not backup) "preferences.xml" file using a text editor like Notepad.

4. Scroll to the bottom until you see the following lines:

 </scriptsPreferences>
    <consoleHistory />
</root>

5. Paste two new lines before the </scriptsPreferences> line:

<isReplayEnabled> true </isReplayEnabled>
<ReplayCameraUpdate> 30 </ReplayCameraUpdate>

6. It should now look like this:

<isReplayEnabled> true </isReplayEnabled>
       <ReplayCameraUpdate> 30 </ReplayCameraUpdate>
 </scriptsPreferences>
    <consoleHistory />
</root>

7. Save the file and launch the game client.

8. Enjoy the game!

9. All of the replays will be stored at the "..\replays" folder, which will be automatically created inside the game folder.

10. To launch a replay, close the game client first.

11. After closing the game, drag and drop the "*.wowsreplay" file to WorldOfWarships.exe, or associate the .wowsreplay file extention with the game executable.

12. Every battle generates a separate replay file. Port cannot be recorded.

13. *.wowsreplay files can only be played with the same client version. Replays may not work properly with newer version of the game client.

Replay controls:

'PageUp' 'PageDown' for playback speed control
'Home' for normal speed
'End' for pause (which is actually x100 slower speed)
'LMB' for toggling camera direction between 'free' and 'recorded'
'>' '<' for fast-forward & rewind (can be used together with 'Ctrl')

You should be able to directly attach *.wowsreplay files to your forum posts through the "Attach Files" function, otherwise you can place the file in a *.zip. Looking forward to seeing your replays, Captains!

Just open the replay file with the WOWS client - double click on replay and pick WOWS when it asks what application to open it with.

Is there a version without all the technical language. What is a backup and a game folder?

This is pretty much as simple as it gets.

Right click, copy it, and move it to a different location so you can bring it back just in case

Not to be the pessimistic jerk, but if you don't even know the difference between a 'file' and a 'folder', and when presented with clear steps reply with "Is there a version without all the technical language", messing about with files and folders that could easily break your install of the game might not be recommended.

All it's doing is adding lines though so it's not like I'm deleting anything. All the other lines are still fine so the worst that could happen is that the replays don't save right?

Ok, so I typed the new lines in where it said to so does that mean it works now?

If it looks exactly like the instructions, and you saved before closing the file (should be a no brainer here), then yes, it should work. If your game was running, close it and reopen it. Play a battle, then check the game folder to see if a "replays" folder now exists with the replay inside.

In theory. It's just that you're letting on that you aren't the most computer literate person out there, so if something does go wrong it'll be even harder for anyone to guide you to the solution.

Ok so the replay worked and I can see it in the file, how can I view/edit it? nvm I can read. So can I now take this replay file and edit it with IMovie or do I need something else?

you need a recording software to record replays. it not as simple as converting replays files to video formats. The best way is to record while playing the replay

there some few programs you can use that i can think of from top of my head

Bandicam

Fraps

ShadowPlay

If you have an nVidia GPU, use nVidia ShadowPlay (#3 on Renegade's list) as it's markedly superior to third party solutions in terms of performance.

If someone is not so technically savvy with computers their best bet is to get Windows 10 and use GameDVR.  All built in and works like a charm and saves as a mpeg4 file.  Saves right to the Capture folder.  Of course, if someone does not know the difference between a Folder and File, it could still be an issue.  Not trying to be a smart a**, just stating a fact.
