Win or lose, we just wanna camp...

Like in this battle:

 

15:58, BBs camp mode engaged around A

Players at low tiers, on the contrary, have the guts to fight till the last...

Some say T8 and higher is "conservative" or "Strategic"    Lets call it what it is.  Boring and static.  Lack of consistent high tier CV play has people camping and sitting still or slowly going forward and backwards.  No broadside of torp bombers to punish that behavior.

only problem is that lately, pushing seems to be punished by everything else.

One of the few times I will throw torps at teammates. I come for a team that at least tries to win, not a bunch of cowards.

This is when you put torpedoes directly behind your teammates.  They can't back up or they'll run into them so they're forced to push or at least stop backing up.

What thought process made it possible for them to all stay within or close to the Cap circle for so long? I'm honestly wondering how such a thing is possible.

What i find most frustrating is the style of play of the high tier BBs. Point your bow, and switch between reverse and forward once every few minutes. Meanwhile, the cruisers and DDs are risking their necks trying to cap. (This is a massive generalization, if you didn't notice. Just saying...)

At least your team didn't go to J10...

With CVs, you'll see everyone running away from caps... They won't camp, they'll run...

Pushing together is actually still working, however mostly you'll see some are pushing while others are camping...

This no longer works... They just ignore your torps and continue camping...

Yeah this is why I only play high tier DDs... I can still achieve something or just run away without support from the team.

Meh. I just push at high tiers anyway, my team usually joins in and I do fine. People are scared to get by themselves, which is not an absurd fear. Pushing works if you push together. If you can, communicate with your team, if not stick by them and lead by example. If that doesn't work for you get the Khab, because it is insanely fun even if everyone else is camping.

 

This is also why I usually only play my T10s with friends, other than the DDs, the Khab and Gearing are fine to play on my own, and the Shima is mostly retired so I can remember it in it's former glory (The captain gets his work in on Tachibana, Yubari, and Kamikaze so I'm not wasting my 18 pointer entirely.).

This is why the gun ship meta exists in high tiers.  Everyone wants to camp while the DDs cap.  Gotta bring gunships to fight other DDs for the cap though.

Had a battle like this earlier and as I complained about our ships poor BB play, complimenting the two CA's who were with me in a fighting retreat.  (I am on my DD) one guy said "I bet you won't beat bottom 3 exp"  I was top 4 and beat ALL of our battleships by 2 or more levels of exp.

Really, I see no point in complaining about the campy meta any more. It's the second nature of WoWs at this point, and we're not talking just high tiers. If WG really wanted us to brawl, they'd start by making it physically impossible to snipe by limiting the range of everything. Apparently camping isn't popular on the RU server, so it's all good comrade.

 

I still take camping in WoWs over getting a rectal exam from 3-4 artillery on the enemy team every single match in WoT.

I had a Yamato on my team the other day, who was sitting at the back of the map. When i suggested he should push, he said "BBs can't push when there are destroyers around." How the heck did this guy get to a Yamato?

I tried that before, and I even told my teammates I'll be ur meat shield. And the result usually was, people still camp, or maybe the'll follow a little bit, but when they lose their meat shield, they'll run away asap...

 

Yeah I want to try Khab, but my russian DD line is a little bit behind. Forgot to give it a shot on PTS...

Yeah people just sit far behind and watch their DDs win or lose the fight... If DDs win, they are doing their job, if not, it's all DDs' fault...

Yeah, quite used to seeing people camping, even at mid tiers... which actually makes this game a little bit mindless and boring: most of them come into a game just to press WS and LMB only for 10+ minutes...

And when teammates get rid of enemy DDs, those guys will talk about something else, like enemy cruisers will spam HEs and burn me... Actually last time an Amagi refused to push because "enemy Pensa has torps"................................................ At that moment I wanted to throw my torps on that guy...

War Gaming needs to make the high tier maps smaller imo. Along with other good ideas to fix this meta.

 

I'll call players out in match. Had a division of 3 Iowa's on this map. We all pushed A. Then rather than turning into B (red) They hooked outside the islands dispite me pleading for them to push the cap. That's just bad play. What's wrong with calling them out on it?

 

I am also very liberal in giving of BAD karma. I know it doesn't actual mean anything. It isn't public. But when someone blatantly doesn't play the objectives that is the definition of "Plays poorly" imo.

God no. There's nothing worse than spawning already bow-in to the enemy and pretty much in plain sight like on Shatter. You don't even have time to position correctly before engaging. No, maps are mostly fine, it's the range on BBs and some CAs that's not.

Not really, from everything I have read about tier X play, this is EXACTLY what it is like.

 

No CV's to stop long range camping and sniping.

 

BB's with guns that are to powerful and accurate that can reach 3/4's of the map.

 

CA/CL that dare not move up lest they be deleted in short order.

 

Turning is suicide as you show your broadside to the aforementioned BB's. Combine show turning with big silhouettes, is just asking to be deleted.

 

Maybe, just give all tier X matches the Ocean map, a BIG version so they have to move to engage, and all cruisers smoke so they can close the distance under some kind of cover.

 

For some reason, WoWS just doesn't scale up well at the top tiers, unlike WoT.

Well if they make maps smaller, I believe people will start reversing as soon as the game begins...

People sometimes may push to a cap, but after they getting that cap, they'll stay there forever...

Karma won't change anything since it won't affect the xp and credit system at all.
