Any Info On Control Groups?

o7 all,

Got a couple of questions on the (a) existence of control groups, (b) the legality of control groups, and © whether or not they are/can be adapted for use with carriers. So, before I go any further, let me explain what I mean by control groups. In a lot of RTS games they have control groups in which select several units and assign a group to them by pressing Ctrl+1 or whatever other number you want, allowing you to control larger numbers of units easier. So,

 

1) Are control groups allowed under the WG terms and conditions? Now keep in mind that they are NOT macros, where pressing a button executes a set of commands. All a control group will do will select a set of units, more specifically, squadrons of a carrier. 

 

2) Do any control groups exist? I know that Warships doesn't support native control groups, but are there any mods out there that would do something like that?

Any mod that creates control groups would just be a macro of shift + number keys.

So then, correct me if I'm wrong, but control groups would go against WG's terms  as macroing/botting?

Considering you can box-select squads to give them a collective order, I don't see why control groups (to give them a collective order) would be considered macro'ing.

 

So, you tell us:  why do you think it WOULD be macro'ing?

I personally don't. But with WG's new and more heavily enforced list of bannable offenses, I don't want to risk having my account and hundreds of dollars spent with thousands of hours played banned for something as stupid as that.

With CVs you can hold shift while selecting the number of the squads you want to control and it will control them all as 1 group.  However it will not let you assign a key to that control group so if you switch to another squad or a single squad within the control group you'll have to set up the control group again.
