How are you going to defend against a DD that can close to point blank range before being spotted. Torpedoes don't have flashes when they are launched. 320 SandraSmiles Members 3,014 posts Report post #9 Posted August 3, 2016 Trident and Northern Lights mapping give us a hint of dusky skies...so I see no issues at all in the developers tweaking the brightness/contrast of the skies to give us a dimmer view of things. Couple that with the occasional cyclones or mere rainy seasons and we have the beginnings of night missions right here already. It's honestly quite hard to see ship profiles against the water when playing a carrier, and when firing at long ranges. Yes, I get that that's realistic and all, but all it really makes me want to do is turn up my gamma and brightness so everything looks like crap but I can play better. For 30 seconds out of every 4 minutes. Great! Get 8 people in a battle with a radar-equipped ship to use it with perfect precision, you can see a 10 KM radius. Q: Will we have night battles with specific mechanisms (launch flares instead of planes, used lights, diminution of view range...) in a special mode? A: Right now we are working with the Cyclone and weather effects and checking their influence on gameplay. Pretty much for the concealment, but there would be key differences. Normal firing detection, searchlights, star shells, aerial target marking, etc., not to mention the cinematic aspect.
