Hey Guys talks on a premium japanese cruiser for the mid-tier got me into making this poll... so what ship would you like see as a premium mid-tier japanese cruiser?

A clone of an existing in-game researchable ship but with alterations to its performance to differ it from it's researchable twin,

A light cruiser that hasn't being added in game yet like the Agano or Oyodo,

Maybe that so called Prototaka with a whooping 12 of those Yubari guns,

Or you don't want to see a mid tier premium cruiser for Japan...

I'll take Agano and Ooyodo.

Tone would be my pick, and the one I'd probably want to see the most.

She's already modeled and everything, WG's just trying to figure out what to do with her larger than average hanger size, and how they're going to have that function and be balanced, so no one is certain when we'll see her being sold.

Other than Tone, maybe Yahagi(Agano-class)? She was with Yamato when Yamato was sunk by USN aircraft.

I'd say Agano. I would like any other nations (prem ships) ships to be added than the USN. :B USN has been getting to much ships lately overly all, I persoanlly don't like the USN ships besides a few ones but most of them.....no. :sceptic: New nation added for the prems besides USN please. :izmena:

The Agano seems to be the best candidate.  That said, it seems rather under-armed in their main guns compared to other mid-tier cruisers, only six 152 mm guns.  Not exactly particularly heavily armed light cruisers. I suppose that it could be balanced in the same way that Yubari was with a higher RoF and better accuracy.

Regardless, the Agano seems like the best option for a unique, i.e. non-clone, mid tier IJN premium cruiser.  For what it's worth, the Oyodo seems to suffer from the same problem as the Tone, i.e. that being that it's a hybrid cruiser/float plane carrier, which WG has yet to figure out how to handle within the game.  Thus, it seems to me that this makes the Oyodo a poor choice here.

If it were up to me, I would grab the Prototaka call it Kako and there ya go... Furutaka's flamethrowing minigun of a sister.

Unfortunately Im not WG.

Proto-taco Kako all the way! :playing:

Also looking forward to Tone, but would rather wait for WG to implement a more in-depth floatplane control scheme before releasing her.  Would love to have Kitakami as well, but since she's T8, I wouldn't label her as 'mid tier'.

Why not Ashigara? :3

I'm not really a fan of light cruisers, but I voted for Agano.

I voted Agano but the Prototaka would also be interesting.

I have Yubari and kept Kuma and Furutaka, so I am not really in need for something at mid-tier. Atago serves the purpose for training captains. Yubari in a way, but can only train captains that have LS. Can't leave home without it.

Ooyodo would stand to have somewhere around 35k to 37k HP

Agano would have around 28k to 31k HP

Both could have Ibuki levels of AA.

Both could have some fantastic TDS

Ooyodo could feature enough bow armor to laugh at 356mm shells.

Agano's main problem is that the guns are from WW1 and don't fire very fast for a 6" gun.

More content the better although I'd rather have them focus more on getting the main lines out for some of the bigger navys (cough cough Royal Navy). Once they have steady releases I wouldn't mind the implementation of more premium ships like the ones you suggest.
