For the people that have played the Atago, Triptz, Kutuzov.  Which ship would you pick after playing all three.

I am thinking of getting one.  Not sure which to get.

Just looking for info on why you like one over the other.

Thanks for any input.

I love my Torpitz but for overall gameplay and for my playing style I prefer the Atago. Kutuzov I use here and there but the russian cruisers are nothing like the Japanese.

I only own atago & tirpitz. That being said, you should get the ship in the nation you want a captain for the most. If you plan on going with German BBs when they come out, getting the tirpitz for making a captain as well as captain retraining would be a good idea. All three ships are good.

I have all 3, but if I had to choose 1 it would be the Atago. Very versatile. Second would be Tirpitz. Mainly because the history. And she is fun. Kutuzov is VERY glass, and not much cannon. But good at killing DDs.

     Hope this helps

Atago, because average about 320k credits a game is awesome.

I also get achievements in it plenty. Witherer and Confederate are basically confirmed for at least 6 matches.

As a short answer, it depends quite a bit on what you main. If you are a battleship user, you might want to just up and get the Tirpitz, which is a strong ship all around. But if you're not a BB type of guy, then that more or less takes it out of the picture.

Both the MK and Atago have their ups and down. The Atago, is a generic IJN cruiser with much of the same qualities, but with some added stuff on the side. It has the usual 203mm guns of the tier which are quite good, 4x4 10km torps with a frontward facing launcher (better front arc, which is something the tech tree ships don't really have), and so-so Anti-air. We all know the IJN cruisers are squishy, maneuverable, stealthier [Atago can get 9.1km detection with Concealment expert, very good for surprise attacks],  good fire starters, etc. So that doesn't need much explaining. Another thing the Atago has that is unique is a heal, which ups your survivability/endurance. This is really good for going into the ending minutes of the game, or just for patching up the light hits or fires you've accumulated over the course of battle.

The MK although I don't have it, I have some knowledge of it. Feel free to correct me if I'm not exactly correct with something I state.. It has faster firing guns but with a bit lower damage with the shells. It has a longer range, and is still decent at fire starting. But it is still a pretty squishy ship with a big citadel, so people tend to sit a bit back a bit to improve their evasiveness. It has very very good AA, so it is a good escort ship/anti-aircraft platform. It also has torpedoes like the Atago.. But they are 8km torps, have 2x5 launchers, have a bit of a higher reload time and do slightly less damage. A downside is it gets detected faster than the Atago, which makes it a bit inferior to Destroyer hunting, but also makes it harder for you to sneak up on people. Though one thing that is unique to the Kutuzov (though the Flint has it), is a smoke screen. You know what it does. Yeah, it has one.. So, you can ruin many people's days with that if you know what you are capable of. Can't say too much of its maneuverability and speed, someone else can touch up on that I'm sure.

Those are some of the things you can expect from the two ships. I myself think the Atago is a better rounded ship, and more versatile, so that would be my choice. Pay no attention to my name. However, the Atago is undoubtedly very 'cookie-cutter' like, and therefore a lot of things about it are things you'd expect from ordinary IJN cruisers. So if you are fine with the tech tree already, the MK is a good ship to switch things up since it has more uniqueness in comparison to other cruisers. Anyway, that's all. Hope I helped a bit :)

Never gonna happen to the MK....  Plus firing more often with the Mk is more enjoyable fer me... I was think of getting the Tirpitz but want to focus on my other ships for now.

good luck with your decision...

Atago. They are all great ships and fun to play but the main reason i play premiums is to grind credits and atago makes more than the other two, for me anyway.

Of the three, Tirpitz is most forgiving.

For the people that have played the Atago, Triptz, Kutuzov.  Which ship would you pick after playing all three.

I am thinking of getting one.  Not sure which to get.

Here is how I see it, after playing all 3 for many months now.

Tirpitz is very forgiving, good for newer players (still need to know how to shoot) and scales nicely with skill, the better you are the better the tirpitz will handle. Tirpitz is also quite flexible with many options for upgrades (Main battery, Secondary, tank etc) I got the tirpitz after the atago and atlanta and have loved it from day one.

Atago has a glass jaw, and will only perform well if you have a good understanding of the game, I'd only recommend the atago to someone who already has experience with higher tier cruisers. Atago is a crazy good cruiser at tier 8 but doesn't forgive mistakes much at all. Also lol 20% fire with demo expert.... I got the atago first and did not appreciate it until I had improved my game play a whole lot.

Kutuzov is a tier 8 Cleveland with smoke and torps. I'd say that the Kutuzov is more forgiving than the atago because of the smoke. However to perform well in it you need a solid grasp of the game, spamming HE all day may get you OK results but knowing when to use AP and how to use smoke offensively turn this thing into a real monster. I got the Kutuzov last and it is definitely worth every penny, but if you don't have a solid grasp of cruiser game play AND destroyer game play you may not like it much at all.

All 3 are stellar ships at tier 8, all capable of great results and good cash, but the tirpitz is really the easier one to play and thus the most consistent performer.

So if you are an average player Tirpitz > Atago > Kutuzov

If you are a stellar player Kutuzov = Atago > Tirpitz

I own all 3; my pick would be Kutuzov. Fast spamming HE, smoke, excellent range. I prefer cruisers though, but if you like BB's, then Tirpitz is good also. A lot depends on what style you like to play; all 3 are good really. I can also recommend Molotov.

Kutuzov, hands down.

It gets Smoke. You hide in it 13km away from BBs or CAs and watch them get burned/citadeled.

It gets a 152mm lolpen weapon with Stalinium rounds that hits Fuso citadels at maximum range. HE is buffed now and with DE it causes fires and does significant damage to BBs of equal tier or below. T8 cruisers take citadel shots starting 10km away. Don't let the caliber fool you, it's shell speed is 950m/s making it perfect for long-range spamming too, as well as slicing through armor. (As an added bonus secondaries are 1km/s)

It has a base range of 19km at Tier 8.

Its AA suite is the best at its tier, able to fend off Tier IX planes.

It's a CL, meaning Light Cruiser. AP shots regularly overpenetrate you when they should stick and hit (for most CAs this occurs often because thicker armor), meaning less damage. You can still take massive hits though, so watch out!

...It has smoke!

I regularly get top XP with it, even in Tier X fights. Nothing to laugh at, assuming you play it right.

Want to thank everyone for your suggestions.  To address a few questions.   I am a below average player. I have been playing the USN line until a week or two ago.  I am more interested in Cruisers than BB's or DD's.

At this point I am in the Baltimore and was working toward the Des Moines. Then I played a low tear Germany Cruiser in testing for the 5.9 patch and found them pretty interesting.  Took what I have build up to buy the Des Moines and bought a few German Cruisers.  Right now I am running the Karlsruhe.

No plans at this point to go the battleship route.  I have the Texas and found I am not that interested in BB's. Also do not see me getting a CV's or DD.  Have not played any CV, no interest in trying one.  I tried a low tear USN DD and found the game play with them to fast for me.

Going  by your suggestions; I think the Atago or the Kutuzov will be my next buy. Just have to decide. At this point maybe a coin flip is in order.   Edited:  Just overlooked that the Tripitz is a BB.

Looking to play a premium Cruiser that  is not the Atlanta which I have.  I like the Atlanta, fun ship to play, other than that not much to say about it.

Simple answer then, Atago is the best choice for you, and fun cruiser and versatile, unlike the mk which is stuck to one role.

Atago is probably the most well-rounded, but I have come to prefer my Kutuzov for many of the reasons mentioned.

Are you unsure of what class you play? Do you want cruiser speed, battleship arms and armor, and destroyer torpedoes? Do you enjoy brawling? If so, ask your doctor if prescription-strength tirpitz is right for you.

Do you long for the sneaky ninja lifestyle? Do you want to sneak up on your opponent, destroy him with alpha damage,  and then vanish into the night? Do you want to come back from the brink of death like a vengeful revenant and win Leonardo DiCaprio an Oscar? If so,  At ago is right up your alley.

Do like shooting?

Do you really, really like shooting? All the time? At everything? Always? At all distances?

Do you want to see fascinating places, meet beautiful destroyers, and brutally murder them?  Does the sight of a battleship engulfed in flames trigger your ASMR reflex?  Then reach for the Kutuzov, and you'll never have to reach for anything ever again.

Well,  I bought the Atago, now spending some time with it in Co-OP.  I have to change my play style, I usually run up front, doing that has been getting my butt kicked in this ship.  Torps, I never much used in other ships but now typing to pick up the knack of hitting ship with them........so far no doing too well.

I think I will like it after I learn it a bit more.  So far the guns seem to hit a bit light from what I thought they would, likely not putting enough shells on the target.

I am playing this and the Germany courser line right now. I was working my up the USN, but after playing a few of the German ships the USN line seems lacking.

Plan on buying the Kutuzvo next month since some people really like it.

Like I said, right now my biggest handicap is my less the average play and wanting to push forward too soon, also have a habit of taking on BB's which very seldom end well.  I get sunk in 8 out of 10 battles, some days 10 out of 10.

So far on the Atago the only thing I don't like is the reload time is a few seconds too long.  Yep I like to shoot, the more the bigger my grin.

I have all 3. Atago is my most played ship. Took a while to get good with it though.

The MK and Terpitz I just picked up becoming of summer. The MK is fun. Had I gotten it back in closed beta like the Atago it would easily be my most played.

The Terpitz just hasn't grabbed my attention, but I'm mostly a cruiser player I guess.

Get the one in the line you intend to spend the most time working. All ships play different and you'll be best off playing a premium the most feels like the line your working.

Atago is a good ship. Avoid the temptation to get out front. Play at or near your Max range for a while. You'll get a good feel for the guns, be able to get unspotted by stopping shooting and make a safer turnout if needed.

I use the noob skill of incoming fire alert. Helps average players like me live longer.

Forget about your torps except as area denial. They are good, but the temptation to deliberately use the offensively will usually bring more pain than reward.
