I want a personal apology from WG staff for the Kirov

I have a love/hate relationship with this ship. When she works, she is an absolute terror. However, when she doesn't it's an absolute chore to play her and generally leaves me feeling unsatisfied. Even though my stats in her were okay, I can say I didn't enjoy the play style I needed to use to make the ship the most effective. Though the Kirov can be painful at times, the Budyonny is well worth dealing with Kirov's unique charms. Lastly, even on its' worst day, the Kirov "grind" is infinitely better than the Karlsruhe grind.

Sounds like a PBKAC error to me.

 

Those are my stats with it. And i'm a slightly above average player.  You can't make it work, PBKAC.  And not to be a complete jerk, but looking at your overall statistics, it's not a wonder why you blame the ship instead of your own skills my friend.

 

At the risk of being a complete jerk, I'd highly suggest you start learning how to really play the game.

Here is a tip, don't show broadside, fire AP against broadside cruisers, and always have backup to support yoy

idk if Kirov was nerfed but I remember that it was really good when the Russian cruisers first came out. (I don't have it anymore so I can't compare)

Kirov is actually better than Murmansk.

It is something of a play style change, but keep your Kirov at range and always "serpentine" so nobody gets a clean shot at your tinfoil armored citadel. If you find yourself too close to BB and turning away would only open you up to a multi shot citadel removal procedure, go straight at the BB full speed, wait for him to waste a shot at your slender bow (RNGesus will usually bless this maneuver ) then swing out enough to torp him to oblivion.

Just bought the ship and either my third of fourth game I had 75k damage. I am very impressed by it, especially since I am not a cruiser player. Might keep the grind going and go up the Russian cruiser line

I've found the Kirov to be not all that bad as compared to some others that i hate but, a friend of mine loves. The Kirov can do quite well.

Kirov is still really good. It just has a very specific play style required to maximize her potential. She is one of the few non-BBs I play where this checklist springs to mind constantly.

I know what you mean, OP.  My first few battles ended abruptly in sudden fiery explosions...   After that, I learned to be much more cautious!!   I think Russia was jealous of Germany's glass cannon title, and this was their attempt to steal it.  Just think of it as good practice for playing Pepsi.

 

  I will say that I love seeing these ships when I'm in Nurnburg!   Lots of available citadels!   So, lesson #2 of Kirov:  Avoid German cruisers- they have your number.

Naaa. Rule 2 of Russian cruisers, Kill them first.  If RU cruisers mid tiers are made from citadels, KM cruisers are nothing BUT citadels. You sneeze on that ship with AP and watch it explode.

I'm not WG staff by any stretch of the imagination, but I'll offer my personal apology anyway. I'm sorry, OP. I'm sorry that you are evidently yet to learn how to play Kirov.
