There was a change to the turret turning upgrade some time ago, this reduced the reload penalty, which means you can get the turning with the skill and the upgrade down from the retarded 51 seconds it was before without killing your reload.

 

Not perfect but better than the god awful turning I had before.

I never had issues working with 155 Mogami even without MBM2, currently mine has no upgrades whatsoever.  I just play it like a stealthier Russian CA that has bad traverse; the torpedoes and AP are equally situational compared to Chapayev (which I've played on PT, haven't gotten to her on live) and the turning circles, hull size, and rudder response times are for all intents and purposes identical in that they are meaningless when attempting to dodge on reaction.

 

To put the following results in perspective, I had Survivability Expert instead of DE for some bloody reason until this most recent respec sale; god knows what I was on when I decided that was a good idea.

 

Anyways, this match was when I was completely stock.  Captain still in retraining, with the awful stock 14.2km range.

Nuked a New Orleans with my AP, almost nuked another Mogami (got him on the next shot), and singlehandedly killed an Iowa from near-full with combined torps and HE spam.
