Thanks for the videos OP.  For 55 minutes total, it does a very good job about the development of Carriers from their small beginnings into the modern era and covering the different contributions.

Clip 4 covered the Royal Navy contributions to naval aviation in the Post-WWII era, which were extremely important because that was the groundwork of modern Naval Aviation in the decades after WWII.  The US Navy took those ideas to heart.

Thanks :D Yeah i hoped others would enjoy or at least perhaps find the content interesting.

What was good about this series in particular was not only does it explain the Royal Navy's contributions but it also has early footage of the US CV 1 Langley and the experiments that followed. What was also interesting which i had forgotten was the bit about the attack on pearl harbor - the idea of attacking ships in a shallow harbor. This had happened once before elsewhere and i had forgot how this could have been the very inspiration to the Japanese to employ that tactic vs the US.

What i wish to reiterate is that naval air power was at the coming of age at this time period that we play in game and it played a very important role in the story that is the battle of the Pacific. The current representation of aircraft carriers in the game in both quantity and ability i think is a grand misrepresentation to how important they really were and had become. They seem to appear in game as a tertiary ship line often just hiding in the back and not worth the team protecting. I think it's a bit insulting how under represented they are.

Great find for this - these are really good and interesting.  Little Langley can be underestimated with how much it did to improve operational flow and tempo for the big carriers that came afterward.

The upcoming KM CV's have peaked my interest a little, but I still think carriers need work.

Where did you see any indication that there would be a KM CV line?

None of that suggests that a KM line of CVs is coming.  Graf Zeppelin being made a premium is a big flag that no such line will happen as it is the only CV Germany even came close to putting in service and it would have been needed for any KM CV line.

The next line of CVs will almost certainly be British because the British are the only power without a CV line in the game that put significant numbers of carriers into service.

I also thought WG said no lines of ships that were entirely paper (which effectively rules out German and Russian CVs.)
