11 [OVRPN] _Legal_Legend_ Members 87 posts 13,526 battles Report post #1 Posted August 1, 2016 (edited) Who would be interested in taking part in a tournament consisting of individual performances in random matches? Tournament would be double elimination format were the captains competes in a per-assigned tier and type against the general population in a random battle. The individual captains would be scored based on a points calculation from the post battle detailed report. Captain with highest total score would move to next round and with double elimination 1st to 4th place can be determined. To verify scoring the captains would division up with a judge to oversee the scoring. I have utilized this format in other WG products with success and I feel confident it can be tailored to the WoWs world. You never know, RNG may favor you Then again maybe not Velly Intallesting, tell me more mine Herr... Ideally, The score would be a point system based on the different parts of the detailed report. i.e. most damage from guns, torps, the number of hits so on so on Do I get to sink things and win stuff? If so I'm all ears As it stands right now I am floating the idea of a tournament to see how many fish surface. Maybe a WG or a big time YouTube'r will front some prizes

But with out changing files this is not a readily accessible option. What I propose can been done right now without the participates having to do anything other then perform. Not looking for anything from anyone, I can fund it myself. It is just too bad every response is negative for the Super and Beta Tester. Really makes me feel like this game has a future. How would assigning a coordinator to witness the game work? What would the coordinator be expected to do during said game? Just my 2cents. I ran tournaments without a referee watching, with the requirement that both parties submit screenshots of the results. In this case I would suggest people have to submit replays as well as screenshots. That way the judge can perform audits, say 10% of games submitted get audited? Unless the replays have fast forward options? (not used WoWS replay, in favour of my ShadowPlay software)

How would assigning a coordinator to witness the game work? What would the coordinator be expected to do during said game? I would start with a small tournament, say 10-20 player in tier 8 ships. The type of boats would have to be the same for each contestant and each round. Judging would be based on the results of the detailed battle results from each contestant. An example would be the highest overall damage get 1 point, number of MB hits for 1 pt., and Damage from MB for 1 pt. every category could be used for points. The more categories the contestant wins the more points, A tie breaker could be the number of modules damages. The scoring is flexible enough to just be 3 categories or all of them. The number of games/battles played could be 1 per round or a best of series for a very competitive tournament. The tournament could be single elimination or consolation style. A coordinator/judge would run a division with each contestant and the contestant would need to do nominal damage to witness (i.e. mild ramming so it shows on detailed battle results). It unfortunate we could just not trust contestants to submit honest results. The coordinator/witness would go able playing the battle to the best of their ability as expected in a division. I have created scorecards and editable brackets for other WG products (Blitz) that could be configured for WoWs. I would like to start a very small tournament of 6-10 players as a test run. We can stream the battles on Twitch or post replays on YouTube. BTW I stream http://www.twitch.tv/ikener Edited August 2, 2016 by Legal_Legend
11 [OVRPN] _Legal_Legend_ Members 87 posts 13,526 battles Report post #13 Posted October 27, 2016 (edited) Update, The tournament format, scoring and reporting mechanism has been refined. I currently have a simple and robust working model that can be run buy anyone interested. The only task a participant must do is understand how to take a screen shot and how to post them on a forum thread. If you or your clan is interested in a tournament please contact me for more information. Edited November 1, 2016 by Legal_Legend

(don't answer that) you play a mini tourney and have some fun and meet some new friends? (let us assume we are not being negative) who knows this could end up being a ton of fun? this sounds like a great idea with lots of potential, but i do agree to the caution with involving WG just making sure you are not breaking any EULA though. Great idea though!
