Hi all. I was wondering what I should go with for my 4th captain skill on the Blyskawicha. Currently, I have Basics of Survivability, Last stand, and Superintendent. Because the Blyskawicha is a gunboat, I feel that Survival Expert and Advanced Fire Training both bring value to the table. I was wondering which of the two you would go for, or something else.

Thanks!

AFT...... with CE and its camo, that thing invisifires as close as almost 10.5 and out to 14.1 KM...... makes quite a few BBs unhappy most games...

I use AFT. Invisi-fire can be a powerful tool. Once you get CE (I am 30k from it), it makes it easier.

DE? I'm unfamiliar with the abbreviation.

Demolition Expert. +3% fire chance on your shells, and it turns the Blys into a firebug.

Though I personally went AFT for more range. In my opinion, Survival Expert is a waste of four points on a DD.

DE = Demolition Expert. That said, I went with AFT for invisifire goodness. Survival Expert is of dubious value IMO, those 2800 additional hitpoints aren't going to matter that often, but the additional stealth fire range is always useful.

Might drop AFT for DE after getting Concealment Expert.

Demolition Expert - 3% to fire chance.

I would go AFT personally, it's not just invisifiring, it's not being so badly outranged and all those times when a ship is just a bit out of range and you could otherwise be shooting - gah!

I'm not sure on CE, think I may get DE and have 2x 4 point skills. Invisifiring or not, you're hard to hit at 13 km out.

It's kind of a great debate... more fires or more range.

Personally, I think getting more range is always better because you can stay in action longer while keeping yourself safe invisifiring.

Just find a big, fat, slow BB at 11.3-14.4km and keep shooting at him forever, completely safe from any kind of retribution. That's a lot easier to do than 11.3km to 12km.

So if you go DE, be ready to be constantly under fire from the enemy while you try and set fires. If you get CE with your DE, it gives you a little more breathing space but not much. However, with AFT/CE, you have a 4km window to invisifire!

Much easier to start fires when you can pummel the enemy relentlessly.

DE . thats all u need.

imo , aft is better

For them invisifire skills

I'd say AFT as well, though if you are going to stay far away anyway you could forgo CE and pick up DE anyway.

Mostly I say so because anytime I get close to anything red in my Blys I die a horrible, flaming death. Great gunboat? Not to me it isn't. Only success' I've had in that awful thing have been after starting to play it more like a Russian than an American.

I agree with this.  AFT for the very nice engagement ranges with Blyzkawica, especially a good invisifiring window.  However, I don't have points for a tier 5 skill on that captain, so the CE+DE option is interesting.  Until then, AFT for me.

In my opinion - having recently gotten my first 4th tier on the blys, DE by itself is superior to AFT. After testing both in 3 and 4 games (DE, then AFT).

DE let me get a lot more damage, (20-30k over AFT only) while AFT was only moderately useful in the one occasion I was able to chase down a Ranger.

Yeah after CE its a real freaking toss up.  I use AFT atm, but I don't have CE yet, really want it badly.  Comes down to playstyle once you get CE.  Do you want to be a Rusky type long range gun boat?  AFT.  Or do you want to move in and toss torps under stealth then finish with fire?  DE.  I will enjoy trying out both one day :),
