Have you notice more detonations in the game?  Not just one particular ship but all across the board?  In the last 3 days I have been detonated more times then in the previous 6 months.  Yes, I get it, you have to have the signal flags, the thing is that I usually don't use signal flags in random matches (I save them for Ranked) and have never been detonated this frequently.

Not really. I think I see (or notice) a detonate message every few games, but rarely ever two in the same game or in back to back games. That could have more to do with most of my games lately having T7 to T10 ships in them? Not sure.

There may be a small uptick since the changes to the modifications removed the 20% detonation negation bonus from the Main Battery 1 mod in favor of a larger dedicated anti detonation mod.

No I have not noticed any change, in fact I have not been detonated in several months and do not use any flags. I guess it is how you handle the ship!

Tell that to the four guys that got detonated on the red team in a T10 match last night. That was brutal. I'm sorry, RNGesus says you get to be down four players now! GOOD LUCK LOL

961 battles with only 1 detonation. :aqua:

 

Then again only 11% of those battles are in DDs, so take from that what you will...

This. Beat me to the punch. Even though the new skill has a 70% reduction instead of 20%, less people take it since Main Battery is much more important in every game, instead of once or twice every 150 games or so.

RNGesus will not give you more than you can handle. :)  *checks skies for thunderbolts...*

 

As for number of dets, I haven't noticed an uptick myself, the rate of other players detonating seems about the same.

By DD detonation rate is up too 12.5%

Enemy Lo Yang Captains are a big giver of Dets.   They are responsible I swear for half of my career blow ups.

Hahaha. Lost three games today to teammate detonations. Not happy working hard for a victory, only to have my teammate's Tirpitz detonate with a few minutes left, finishing us -- played my heart out in Udaloi, 80K damage too, really hoped to get the win. But hey! That's immersive, enjoyable gameplay!

Yes, there are more dets now. In the 0.5.8 mod the restructured mod lets you chose between lower det chance or lower chance of weapons systems getting wrecked. Note that you are no longer protected against dets if you choose weapons. 

 

The purpose of the mod is obvious: because the CV population fell, ship death rates fell. WG had to keep those up, so they cranked up dets. Suddenly everyone was noting multiple detonation games, more than once a day. Too many dets, so many players were noticing. Probably some of you remember the recent event when WG handed out det flags. They kinda had to do that since there were so many dets they were unbalancing gameplay.

 

The event in which they handed out det flags was basically an admission by WG that dets reduce playability. Their own stats told them that. Oops!

Even still, there are way too many detonations. The obvious move would be to go back to the pre-0.5.8 detonation regime, which players managed to live with.

Hahaha... good one. As if "how you handle the ship" has anything to do with detonations. I find it real funny when people say that they can avoid being detonated by using their amazing skill and "skilling" their way out of everything.

Make detonations occur automatically when you get a magazine citadel, then we'll have realism and will allow those those of us who enjoy detonations to swim in them like swimming in a pool of chocolate.
