26 [RAVEN] Allan_DeGroot Members 141 posts 12,769 battles Report post #1 Posted July 31, 2016 (edited) Some Joker decides to tell me how bad I am, as if he thinks I don't know, between being a recovering stroke patient and fighting with my mouse and connection problems this guy wants to whine about the fact that in a random battle against bots that I do an end-around of the entire battle area to go kill the enemy carrier (which I manage to do ending the battle) This being exactly my third battle with a new ship...(a Kirov) The best ships I've got are on Tier VI (New Mexico, Cleveland, etc) and I originally downloaded the game on New Years day... To be honest here I have issues with each new ship, It usually takes me four to five battles before I actually survive a battle without getting to watch my new ship sink. this guy points out that for someone who has nearly 4000 (3605 to be exact) battles my game play is "lame"... For Christ's sake! I'm not someone who was top of my class at Annapolis, I'm just a guy on a good home computer that has lots of free time, a monthly disability check and a wonky right hand and arm (residue from the stroke)... and frankly I'm usually happy at the end of a battle If my ship in still afloat, I've managed to kill some enemy ships, and some idiot on my own team hasn't shot at me or tried to kill me.... and I haven't accidentally torpedoed a team mate... Now I have to add "not being bitched at by some world of warship battle critic" Like I said in my last reply to him it's a GAME (Relax) This game is a time vampire, and that is a good thing to someone in my situation. Just ignore him, or say something witty back. I'd do the latter personally ;) Will it solve it? No, but it'd make me feel better. Tell him you're very sorry, you'll try to do better next time but you you're just very depressed because you found out you have (enter some disease). Ask if he'll team with you and help you become better. He'll feel like a jerk. You win. Edited July 31, 2016 by TheBlackWind

Open door. 2. Meet people. 3. Talk to people. message me if you need more tips Edited July 31, 2016 by yUPPatriots

In short, you have to be a long range sniper and play it in a certain way, or you'll get nothing but disappointment from that ship.As far as people sending nastygrams in port after the match - well, sigh, not much you can do other than blacklist them and move on. If we end up in a co-op match together, and you're trying to level up a new ship, ping me in chat to get my attention and I'll try to give you what help I can. Don't sweat the jerks and just have fun. and this You're playing the best you can for yourself and your team FOR FUN (and therapy?), not to be judged by unhappy teammates who probably played worse then you. Be happy with yourself and ignore the whiners. Most good players will offer help rather than criticism, so just dump the "critics" in the waste bin, and play another match. 662 [13TH] HMCS_Devilfish Members 4,901 posts 9,124 battles Report post #15 Posted July 31, 2016 I had a similar issue with a player , maybe even the same guy, he complained the whole game about my play in my CA, he was in a BB, I ignored him in game for the most part but eventually told him to stuff it in chat, when I got back to port he messaged me again complaining how I should learn the game, I dont remember what I said in response to the first message but he messaged me for 2 freaken days a number of times till I resorted to Pirate talk saying he should be court martialed and made to walk the plank for cowardice in battle, his last message said I was crazy and never heard from him again ... If I had to do it all again id ignore him

Meanwhile I'm going back to practicing with my "Glass cannon" (aka Kirov) Or when I've figured out how to remove a skipper from my reserve to make an empty place I'll sell my Myoko and buy the Aoba I've already researched and go out and suck at that ship until I get tired and go to bed... and maybe give some other self-appointed game play critic something to [edited]about... HMCS_Devilfish, I've always been a fan of KEELHAULING as a punishment for people who annoy me, it's more socially acceptably than suggesting that I keep a sharpened piece of utility pole for impaling people... It makes them feel better. Sounds like you handled it well. And if you're still feeling a bit down, here something to make you feel better. Just relax, and let go: Hint: My avatar in a shoot released about a month ago.
26 [RAVEN] Allan_DeGroot Members 141 posts 12,769 battles Report post #21 Posted July 31, 2016 Ok I got the screen-shots thing. AND I've pretty much determined that "Glass cannon" may be a bit "kind" for describing the Kirov, I'm starting to think of it more as a "spray and pray" ship. And in general I think my South Carolina is better at turning to avoid torpedoes... a Semi-Heavy cruiser which is great at deleting Destroyers and Light Cruisers But for Guns I've found the Aoba has better guns than the Furutaka, but not materially better armor. It is an excellent Omaha Eradicator, but at any range any aspect If I get targeted by a Warspite or Tirpitz, I'm instantly in spectator mode for the rest of battle...
