Buy Roon now? or wait for next week?

I finally managed to research Roon....

Now I'm considering between to buy it now or to wait until next week because it should be WG's anniversary or something like that according to someone. Thus they might do some discounts though they always discounts only upto tier 7 ships. I thought it's their anniversary so they might also do discounts upto t10 like in WoT.

Any opinions?

I'm anxious to see what specials they come up with, I really hope to be blown away! So far the premium shop has been a pretty steady disappointment.

Well, first, I'd like to say, after having the DK and Roon (as well as Ibuke!), the Roon is the master of the levels - you'll really enjoy it.

Second, to answer your question, two part answer - A) buy the cheaper doubloons this weekend with the PayPal bonus.

B)  Wait till next weekend and salivate over your main gun (Roon) awesomeness.  Not forgetting the Germ BBs that will be coming online soon.

My experience (last 8 months anyways) is that they rarely/never discount ships above tier 8.  You could wait (and if credits are a concern, then wait) or just go for it and start grinding for your Hindenburg.

If you're willing to wait, I'd say to wait.  August is looking to be German-heavy with Gamescom and the KM BBs arriving.  There's likely to be discounts for a pure Germanfest.

Though I'd hope they'll throw an Oktoberfest event for even more German grinding in Sept-Oct.

Why Roon when you have Hipper though. :(

Because Hipper is average for a Tier 8 ship and Roon is one of the best at Tier 9, maybe behind only Fletcher and Dmitri Donskoi.

That's up to you, though having played with and against the Roon, I find it to be a very good cruiser. Whether the people playing it were good or not, it's a fairly accurate ship and boy does it hurt when I get nailed by one in my Mogami.

Hipper is a good ship but it lacks something... somehow... It's kinda hard to describe. Maybe RPM or Range or whatever but I constantly had that feeling. Hope upcoming Prinz Eugen would satisfy this.

And most importantly if you saw my post days ago, WR of my Hipper is just terrible no matter how good I am and I don't wanna mess up my WR further more.

Bleh. WR doesn't mean anything. Firstly, games are about fun, not winning. Secondly, WR doesn't show how well a person does. A single person doesn't make their team lose. I could have a 30% WR in a destroyer and still be amazing in it. My teams could just suck. This game is designed to pair you with lower skill players the better you yourself do. WR is literally set to be rigged- that's how the system tries to balance things (it's a stupid system).

People have different values. I count WR and rating as high value. To exaggerate a bit: I don't care how the ship looks like, how ugly, beautiful or whatsoever is. It could be stat wise most terrible ship in the game. As long as It can bring me good statistics and good results I'm fine with it.

Btw. still no event calender for August.

I'm about to press "buy" button on Roon if they don't post the event calender ASAP

There is no rigged MM. Player skill doesn't factor into it, simply the tiers and ship classes. WR is entirely dependent on your skill over a sufficient sample size.

Yea so true,  Look at it his way. Yes you can play good and still lose. But if you constantly play good your team's chances of winning are increased, even if it's a slight increase, over a large sample size this will cause your w/r to go up. And bad play constantly will do the opposite.
