10/10 would get deleted again.

Can we get a more armored citadel on Donskoi, please?

lolz 10/10 would enjoy the TS rage again.

Indeed. 20k damage and yet I still get 3k xp. Thanks for the 100% for win, WG.

This is interesting, because i find the Dimitri Donskoi amazingly hard to citadel in my Mogami or my Ibuki. I can shoot a whole salvo into him from 5-10km, and still get no citadels, even though i would get lots of regular pens.

The problem with the Donskoi is that it's both huge and doesn't turn terribly well, having a mediocre turning radius (due somewhat to its high speed, of course) and bleeding a fair amount of speed in a turn, which means you can easily get caught with your sides exposed.  Add that to the fact that the fourth turret has a pretty limited firing arc (making it tough to fire all 4 turrets while staying at an acceptable angle without lots of wiggling), and it can have lots of trouble if anything looks at it funny.

I found I did best in it when I simply stayed at very long range and just spammed HE at all and sundry (unless I had a really good shot with AP).  The extra range can help give you time to cover up those sides, and it's not like the Donskoi can sneak up on much of anything anyway.  Of course, that doesn't really help if tier 8, 9, and 10 battleships decide to take a personal interest in your lack of continued well-being while in that ship, but that's just high-tier cruiser play.

I rather enjoyed my time with the donskoi, even more so than the Mosvka.

While this is unrelated, I would like to add, that the Dmitri Donskoi, despite all the constant blabber about Russian bias, is ABSOLUTELY the UGLIEST ship in this game.

Woah! Between the Donskoi & Mosvka i believe they are two of the best looking ships in the game, sleek battlecruisers!

I also forgot to add.  The Donskoi is very easy to citadel from its rear, where the armor is weakest. But a lot more harder to citadel from   from its front end surprisingly.

Heh, I double cit'ed one near the start of a battle the other day with my North Carolina, at max range, while he was behind an island :)

While the rage wasn't open in chat,I could pretty much feel the radiated heat through my monitor :teethhappy:

Donskoi requires CE plus a very cowardly playstyle.  Before I had a point 15 captain, I kept asking my division buddy to smoke for me just so I could avoid being one-shot. Then I would run and die tired. True story.

It baffles me how people claim that Donskoi is OP when she decidedly can't take a punch. If you can manage to avoid drawing attention to yourself, you can do fine, great even, but contesting cap points or brawling is out of the question.

Towards the end of the grind for Moscow I developed what I assume to be Stockholm syndrome and ended up keeping her as a port decoration (without a captain for now). I suppose Donskoi was actually kind of OK in the end.
