Hey all,

I FINALLY finished the IJN CA line and got Zao this afternoon :). My biggest regret was skipping Ibuki, and apart from Mogami...well...she plays differently (like driving a different brand of vehicle).

Anyhow, I'm looking for advice on what to mount on her, to make her as "hybrid" as possible. No shame in saying, but I will not be taking her into PVP for a while until I get to know her more. I have 10 million silver that I could use towards her mod upgrades, but I'm leaning towards not yet for now.

Thanks

You say 'finally', but you skipped the Ibuki and you only played 4 games in the Mogami (not sure how you make a comparison with Mogami based on 4 games), 2 games in Myoko, 0 in Aoba, 7 in Furutaka and 13 in Kuma. You basically free-XPed up the whole line. Which is fine, live your life, but odd to say you 'FINALLY' did it like you grinded it out. You have less than 50 games in IJN cruisers (not counting your 30ish games in Atago which isn't tech tree) even if you count co-op.

TBH, you should have worked your way up the line, and that way you would have learned the play style of each ship along the way and that would have taught you how to play the Zao. It's not an easy ship to play, get used to dying, even experienced players know it, just sometimes, *plop* and all HP is gone and you're dead. I'm going to be very blunt here and say that if you wanted to enjoy and/or be good in the Zao, you should have grinded up, not free exped your way through. It's hard to teach someone who doesn't take the time to learn. I can't help anyways lol, I don't own a Zao myself. But I won't stop you from playing the way you please, it is a free to play game after all.

Zao: Camp invisible at max range. Load HE. Spew fire. Spew more fire. Continue spamming fire.

See where I'm going with this?

At what point do I accidentally launch torps at a friendly ship

Welp, there is your problem.

Game.............set ...............match.

This is reasons why my high tier games are lets say less than enjoyable a lot of the times.  It wasn't just this line you bought your way to the top, it's all of them.  You are just a liability to your team that has to carry you.  You either have more money than you do sense or your parents are going to be mighty pissed at their next credit card statement.

That being said, in my own self interest when I have to team with you.  Equip for range, increase fire chance and stealth.  Honestly you need to play lower tiers and get a better grasp of the game before you even think about high tiers.  Those of us that ground hundreds of games up the tree will thank you for it.

My advice? Play the Myoko, Mogami and Ibuki.

Uhh... from a guy who currently is at Furutaka, try to stay stealthy, stealth firing would be your best friend, and the best solution to ur problem is to play the Mogami and the Ibuki to get a feeling of high tier IJN CAs. BTW your torps have something like 8km range so use those only if someone gets too close to u.
