So today, i was playing my Mogami, and i got into a battle with this Fletcher. During the course of the battle, i accidentally torped in his direction because i did not see him as he was hidden behind my minimap. So I quickly posted "torps!!" and he managed to dodge them, and i said sorry. What kinda surprised me was that he shot a couple salvos into me for payback. I understand that you get mad if an ally torps toward you, and i have experienced this as well. However, what the Fletcher did is definitely not acceptable in my opinion. If you get torped (accidentally or not) by an ally, you should not shoot back at them, you should just do your best to dodge them. If they hit you, too bad for them, they're gonna get pinked. But if you shoot back at them, firstly that is really rude behavior especially if an apology was given, and second, you're gonna be doing team damage as well. So in a situation like that, it's just better to be forgiving.

Thanks for reading.

Having been on the receiving end of friendly torps on multiple occasions, I understand his frustration. However, firing back is hardly the appropriate response.

Agreed. Mistakes happen you made a mistake but you also did all you could to warn the guy. He was absolutely in the wrong for fireing at you.

You aren't that Mogami I had in a game the other day who just kept launching his torpedoes while I was contesting the cap in front of him, were you?

I finally yelled at him in chat and fired my guns at the water around his ship.

I've been friendly torped plenty of times and, sadly, hit a friendly once with long range torps. Swear to god I cleared the down range before I fired... Anyway, regardless, it happens to the best of us eventually. Firing back with the intent to damage isn't productive. Just a sign of a rage gamer.

Careless friendly torps are a lot more dangerous than enemy torps.

No don't think so, because i only torped once. Also, the Fletcher didn't yell at me. He just kinda shot a few shells into me without any word.

I too sometimes don't clear properly prior to launching torps; I get better with experience.  However, the proper clear technique includes checking the mini-map, not just checking from view.   As you noted, the mini-map hid the DD from "view"; this problem can be avoided if you check the mini-map before launch.
