Were there changes to CV controls I wasn't aware of?

I don't play my CV's too often but I decided to try out my Bogue today and couldn't control the airplanes for some reason. No mods. Maybe it was just a hiccup but usually I try to manually control as much as I can and am able to designate targets for my airplanes with the mouse, this time, however, there was nothing but a circle with a line through it indicating that I couldn't. I selected #2, 3 or 4 according to which squadron I wanted to control and it didn't matter. Often when I selected a different number it would ignore that and start controlling my CV instead sending it in an unwanted direction rather than having my airplane squadron fly to the designated area. I may reboot or restart the game but just wondering if anyone else had similar problems?

clicking too fast sometimes leads to the issues you have described. the game is too slow to handle a series of rapid commands. try being a bit more deliberate.  

 

also check to make sure the keybinds didnt get all messed up somehow

That must have been it...2nd game in Bogue went just fine and I was a lot more deliberate with launching my squadrons and all. Thanks. :)

This bug has been around since the previous few patches.  No clue why it happens, it just hits.  And then you have to restart the client or be useless the rest of the match.  A player that I div with has been hit by it 3 times already.

 

A friend of his had also wanted to try CV's for like the first time ever.  Controls locked up, so I expect that his friend is going to back out from ever playing an aircraft carrier again.

This crap has been going on for ages, yet it never gets fixed.  We just nerf damage, loadouts and change everything else about them and forget about the ridiculously borked controls.  It's a shame the treatment CVs get all around.

 

Imagine the horror here if DD's controls fubar'd like that... there'd be public executions.

Just tried my Japanese CV and didn't experience the same problem. I'll try the Bogue again.

 

Interestingly, I got the problems in my Ryuhjo, and no matter of deliberateness in my clicks seemed to correct it.

Apparently this is what you get when you try to stick RTS controls in an FPS engine.

 

It's not unprecedented, though. If you've ever tried developing 2D UI in Unity, it's a pain. I imagine the Big World engine also doesn't have a lot of native support for high-frequency 2D commands overlaid on a 3D world that's designed with high latency in mind. Well, didn't until they decided to put it in for this game.

The game just got confused...hell, I had to unbind the map-pinging key to get my carrier to control properly.
