395 [DBL-D] Grand_Commander_LuXun Members 2,201 posts 5,012 battles Report post #1 Posted July 27, 2016 This is a possible connection that I've been curious about for quite a while. As much as I rage about the passiveness of teammates and my overly aggressive tendencies in the game, my personality is the opposite. No one has ever described me as being aggressive or belligerent, although I can be slightly short tempered when it comes to certain things. I hate and suck at making plans when it comes to pretty much anything. Those who know me well would describe me as being fairly introverted, dreamy, idealistic, and very carefree / indolent. I only exhibit more of a "Type A" side in the virtual world, but I can separate life from the virtual. I'm not very diplomatic or politically correct, don't like using verbal charm but sometimes I can when I have to get by or really want something. However I usually suck at lying when it comes to anything. I have pretty crappy spatial awareness possibly due to the fact that I might be mildly autistic, and this carries over into the game. I like things to be simple, straightforward, I hate drama, mind games and petty rules / regulations. I like a steady, relaxed and peaceful life where I can be myself and be with the ones I love and truly care about me. I really don't have much tolerance for drama in real life, but in the game........ Well, when I'm pissed I'm pissed. So apart from having crappy spatial skills (I humbly admit) and liking things to be straightforward, in real life I am usually quite laid back.

I think that basically sums up my gaming playstyle and personality.

I don't use foul language and I don't belittle my team. I offer advice and I say please. Yea? Offer advice and take your loss with grace.

There are certain things I do that seem strange to even very experienced players, but that's the nature of modern people. Things that may seem like a bad idea but end up having a positive outcome later. I also do stupid things that sometimes end up turning into an unexpected slaughter Edited July 27, 2016 by Xannari

While most people tend to think that DD captains are "aggressive", I'm actually more of a tactician who likes to plan out stuff. I'm also quite the loner or "lone wolf" type of guy even in real life so yeah...

I like to jump in a lower tier cruiser and turn on the flame thrower. I will try to move with the group when there does seem to to be coherent motion, otherwise I just flame whoever is in range and keep an eye on the caps. But it is a team based game , which depending of your class , you will have to rely more or less on others .

42 Johnny_Johnson_2016 Members 295 posts 1,398 battles Report post #19 Posted July 27, 2016 (edited) Being a poker play I have an aggressive , competitive and sometimes reckless (I don't mind taking chances when maybe I shouldn't) personality and I have no problem taking the blame for something that is my fault because of it. In the game that translates to me sometimes not knowing when I should turn tail and run to fight another day although I am working hard to get better at that. What really torks my turtle though is when people talk down to me or other people like everyone is beneath them whether that is here or in the game ( although I have'nt seen to much of that) and especially real life. 873 [MPIRE] aether_tech Beta Testers 3,804 posts 6,762 battles Report post #20 Posted July 27, 2016 Aggressive, but tactical. I'll 1v1 just about everything, and depending on the enemy, maybe even 1v2. But beyond that, I'm running away like tactical retreat is the hot thing and the prize is live. 206 AquaSquirrel Members 1,228 posts 6,330 battles Report post #21 Posted July 27, 2016 I tend to charge to early, there are many times I think might be the time for the decisive push, or the time to hold aggressively counter a push. I might be right, but if I'm the only one on the team to feel that way then I'll be on the bottom in no time. In BB's any way, in CA/ CL's I tend to be more patient and way more willing to run, esp in my Molotov. Other then that I tend to be pretty laid back, be nice to me I'll be nice to you. 6,909 [RLGN] Estimated_Prophet Members 19,394 posts 36,200 battles Report post #25 Posted July 27, 2016 Not a leader. Prefer to move more in over-watch than out in front, but accept that spawn sometimes means I HAVE to go first. Can be aggressive if allowed to plan to do so, (Wyoming hiding west of little island in B on Faultline, saw him on mini-map while capping C, as well as surrounding situation. Ran all the way from C to B and got within 2k of the Wyoming in my Fujin for a torp strike by keeping that tiny island between myself and anyone who might have seen me...) occasionally slow to react to some sudden change, 'A WILD DD SUDDENLY APPEARS!' but that is not always the case. Prefer the more sedate pace of carrier and battleship driving, (and, I'm discovering, artillery use in WoT,) but at the same time love the heart-racing thrill of a perfectly executed destroyer ambush, or that of charging a BB in a cruiser AND WINNING, when turning would mean certain destruction... At turns I can be calm and focused, or angry to the point it takes a conscious effort not to make some disparaging remark in chat...
