Which was all nice except all you could see was the island and hit markers. I went back and filmed it from the other end in free cam, so you too can feel your soul wither away as you realize that the unstoppable torrent of trash-tier ballistics American high-explosive rounds arcs over one of the tallest mountains you've ever seen. Remember, this is me shooting without being able to visually see the target. All adjustments are made entirely on my end using hit information from 12 seconds prior. Edit: Also without Demo Expert. I was in the Atlanta for a reason: Edited July 25, 2016 by Compassghost

Even at the slow speed of 21 kts a few turns would have thrown most people off, and then I doubt they would have been able to get solidly back on target. Except I know that you know that I know that you know that turning and burning is the most effective way of dodging an Atlanta, so I am already manually adjusting my aim to hit you if you turn port or starboard! Ha! Never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line!

The trick is to turn towards the source of the shells. Atlanta will assume you're going away and correct accordingly. Meanwhile you're closing distance on him, if he adjusts, he starts hitting the mountain, and if he moves, you can blow him out of the water.

Oh hey let's be a sitting duck in tiers where HE is still a much more reliable shell than AP! Oh hey let's sacrifice over 50% of our firepower for basically no advantages an angled ship wouldn't also accomplish! Oh hey let's eat a ton of torpedoes where reloads are likely <40 seconds! It makes me intensely irritated every time I see something like this low-mid tier. The entire reason people would even do it is because 16" shells exist and larger ships turn like a whale. There is no excuse in lower tiers.

There was a Colorado and two heavy cruisers in front, as we killed everyone. He was toast. He just chose to literally become toast instead of charge into the battleship. Or, if he put it in forward, turned right and sailed AWAY from the island, he'd have quickly left the Atlanta's range. Sorry Charlie- go irritate someone else. This guy looked like he'd simply given up. Or was botting.
