43 Dapider Members 233 posts 811 battles Report post #1 Posted July 24, 2016 For these freaking amazing ship! (Seriously GD needed a change of pass from all the whine threads) Also, credit to WG's art team, this ship is very aesthetically pleasing to my eyes! From someone who has never played a destroyer, this ship is surprisingly easy to learn the in's and out's on. All of my damage was done from guns/fire. The torpedoes are about the only thing I am having trouble finding out how to use them effectively. Guns seem to perform similar to the Nicholas I was running with in the match. We and another DD focused down hard two enemy DDs and they seemed to just go *Poof* with the amount of shells we were putting out. The Blyskawica is very agile it seems, speed isn't really a problem and turning is fairly fast compared to the IJN cruisers I have played so far. Though it appears about every hit is destined to take out my engines... The Mahan that killed me (kudos to NjOrd) took quite a severe beating from my guns before he finally went down only for his torps to nail me. At around 8km or so, the guns perform admirably against the USN guns. Arc/Velocity is a high point of the Blyskawica, and the RPM while lower than the USN DDs is nothing to write off. All in all, I find this ship is well worth the price and what little time it takes to train a new captain. ( 2 levels away from now before I get my T4 skill, Due in part to event rewards going on now.) I would like to thank LWM for his/her review on the Blyskawica as their review pushed me to go ahead and give the ship a try!

The invisifire trolling is quite satisfying. She's not a torp boat, but you can get lots of hits launching when the ship is 10 kms away, and launching into smoke. I also like launching across caps before you see opposing DDs. Torps should be in the water when you enter the cap, because DDs will hit them.

Having only played against DDs before, I would have though popping smoke, stopping, and then continuous fire against a target would be a bad idea, but it is very surprising how many people will simply just sit there and let you literally "rain" shells on them. I've deleted numerous DDs that just pop smoke and never move, but I guess people just don't want to shoot at me? Can't say that I'm not happy about it, as I mentioned my engine is knocked out at least 2-3 times a game. I thought about just using the torps as an area-denial tool, however it seemed I always had a friendly ship sitting somewhere in front of me. I'd rather not turn pink from killing a dead-in-the-water teammate again...

I also started on IJN DD tree and am switching between Wakatake and Blyskawica learning the fundamentals. I do wish they'd included 3pts to get captain started but the fun factor rules all! Well, I'll thank both then. As the ship was designed for the Polish navy, however an englishman was the designer of the ship itself.

Every once in a while you get a torp hit but don't count on it. BFT is very helpful increasing rate of fire. AFT is even better increasing range.
