Why people don't seem to care about winning or losing?

Hey, guys,

I recently joined this game, coming from Ocean Steel.

Long story short, the waiting time in OS was painful, so I decided to play this game instead.

I think I did pretty well so far myself and grinded to fully upgraded tier 6 Fuso and other crappy boa with the help of free credits, 2 premium ships and $$$ in the past 4 days.

One thing I don't quite get it in this game is WHY people don't give a damn about the game result?

They seems to think I am crazy when I am asking for plans.

I personally don't mind any plan we came up with, but I think this game is all about team work. All I am hoping is we finish the battle together, winning or lose.

This is not CoD, where you could be a lone wolf and ambush your enemies.(well, DDs potentially could).

Once you are being shot with 3 ships, you are pretty much dead no matter how you angle your self.

It is either that people don't follow plans or they just do whatever they want and get them killed.

, was wondering how you guys enjoy this game? I don't see any clan features in the game. Are there any more serious mode/people/team outa there?

Well not to say it doesn't annoy me at times- but it's because this is a game. Games are about having fun. People- LOTS of them- can have fun without winning.

That's about the gist of it.

Surprising, given that most mmp war games draw the super-A personality types...control freaks, napoleon complexes...and the like.

Play second half style, watch your back first..exploit cover, bottlenecks...ignore the salt.

Grab a division of a destroyer, heavy cruiser and light cruiser...call shots together!

If you're in it for points, well, there ya go. Riddle solved.

This game is about points first and last.

Points come from mission objectives first, damage delivery second, kills third...joy rides last.

There's very little investment.

If I die in a game, I'm not sitting and waiting until the end of a match. I don't care. I can't respawn in that game, but I have enough ships that I die, I exit to dock, and I hop into another ship. I can keep doing that infinitely. There's really no penalty against it other than maybe my Win Rate declines a bit. But the Mikasa mission, if I didn't already, has caused me to all but stop caring about my Win Rate.

Why should I care about winning?

I can have fun, engaging fights without winning, and win or loss has minimal effect on the most important resource: credits.

People that set up a plan in the beginning usually end up with a bunch of people heading to a wall, without any recourse for responding to needs or change.

They scare me tbh.  Especially when they start harassing the non lemmings.

The one dimensional lemming train to nowhere.  They get locked into no options, they get locked out of the ability to make decisions and address needs, they get locked out of the ability to act on freewill and face consequences of actions.

Better to just proceed and do what needs to be done.  Let people do their jobs, cover them, do your job all that.  It's nice and smooth.  Some of the best matches in ranked were complete silence till after combat started.  Or guys just joking around nobody saying a single thing about strategy, just having fun.

When something important is going on just bring it to attention.  Let people realize what's best.  Better if they learn how to think for themselves.  Only way they can improve.

I ignore chat for plans to some degree.  I had a map for a minute.  Sadly it never changes.  I know where I need to go, and what I need to do, I can look and see where the IJN RU US DD's CC's BB's CV's  are to gain an idea for how the map will/should unfold.

I just need to do my job.  It's more harmonious that way.  I hate it when I just started combat and some guy in the back starts telling me how to drive my boat and where to go and what to do and he can't even see the enemy I'm fighting.

Those guys kill me faster than the enemy half the time.

I'm sure he had a plan for the IJN DD way out there.  I don't want to hear it.  Occasionally if bored.  I'll take the time for reason and disputation.  But I'm not a smokebot.  I'm not a unpaid escort.  I have a simple job.

And trust me, not that many people camping in the back have the slightest interest in a DD doing his job properly.  Even one on their own side.

I see where you guys coming from.

I didn't realize the game doesn't provide any bonus/extra credit when you are winning.

I guess I will just have to live with it.

You get 50% more earnings on a win.  Essential to proceed past mid tiers.

And you can get one of those nifty signatures displaying your stats.

Don't get me wrong bro I feel your pain, but it's an MMO, random pug groups.  Try ranked or team battles maybe?

I have seen an astonishing amount of higher level game play in the last month, it actually encouraged me to be a better player.  I really enjoyed it.  It's out there, it just might not take a form your accustomed to.

I haven't checked your stats but once you get past 6 people get pretty mature.

A good suggestion from others, I think, is that if you want coordination and stuff, try to put a team together and play that way.

Pick

Up

Group

Pug isn't a customary term?

I used to play age of conan, doing a group run with a pugger was difficult.  People developed really tight groups.  Makes a big difference when other people do things that make sense, it was a very complex game to master.  Lot of stuff going on.

Is caring about winning, for the sake of being competitive, the one best way of fun? If lose, there's no fun and in turn throwing tantrum, right? MLG kind of mentality? Or are you from Asia?

Win or lose don't matter to people as long as they're having fun playing a game. It's how society works to accept the chances of winning or losing as something comes natural in equity, it happens to everyone.

It didn't seem like they were super angry about it. Just asking a question.

When I first joined this game coming over from WOT to explore it and see how it was it was with several members of my clan in WOT, it was with the thought as it had been advertised to us that yes, we could come over and blow chit up and yes, stats did not matter that the game was not to be same stat [edited]atmosphere that it was in WOT, that it was more laid back and more for fun, apparently that same mentality has stuck with some, but what are you going to do, it their dime and their time, cannot force others to do as perhaps you would or someone else would.
