Heya Warships Podcast peeps! I just listened to episode 76 with iEarlGrey and had some comments.

iEarlGrey said something to the effect that players should/could get the ability to opt out of games with thunderstorms in them. I doubt this very much as it is a game mechanic, something that totally affects play. Unlike emblems/patches which are nothing but a "game pretty" and Wargaming will not allow players to opt out of those. It would make zero sense to be able to opt out of thunderstorms and not patches/emblems. Personally I have problems with the storms, my eyesight is poor and I have difficulty seeing things against a dark background. Adding this mechanic to the game might be great for some players but it will make a match practically unplayable for those with old eyeballs like mine. I managed to do the "French Gold" mission because I played with my contrast/gamma settings prior to the match since I knew what was coming. That won't be an option for me if it is randomly assigned in the game.

Everyone liked the idea of allowing the "space battles" as either a stand alone game or another game mode in game (I assume that is what was meant). Since we must already have +2/-2 matchmaking because the player base is so small, I can not see this happening UNLESS they offer it as one of the scenario of the week things. I am just unsure what the server requirements of something like this would be, can a small set of players use those skins while not affecting the server as a whole. If it were possible to reskin just the players participating in the OP, then they should put Bathtub Boats in that rotation as well.

Vanessa said she liked all the April Fools events that Wargaming has had, I just wanted to point out that last years addition of the submarine to the port was pretty much a non event. There was nothing you could do with it and there wasn't anything for players to participate in. The "joke" wasn't particularly funny and the fact they screwed up the programming so if someone had the sub selected, it messed up divisions, just made it an epic failure IMHO.

The tier 10 rentals bother me for clan wars because you can not mount camouflage. What this does is give players another disadvantage who already have the disadvantage of not being familiar with the ship. I am not so sure that players who already own a tier 10 ship need this leg up in a match. The advantage is already with players who own the ships, not sure why Wargaming feels the need to hobble the more inexperienced players. It feels dirty IMHO.

Anyways just wanted to add my two cents in the mix, as always enjoyed the podcast, y'all do great work and it helps get me through the night shift at work!

Episode 77: Wargaming's RadarX shares his Vision for NA Community Team

Hi listeners! In this weeks episode of the Warship Podcast, we have one of Wargaming newer additions to its staff, RadarX, who recently joined the Wargaming North America staff ventures on to the show to give us his views on World of Warships. The cast interviews Radar and gets up to speed with the new Senior Community Manager. Radar tells the show about his previous work experiences and how he got to Wargaming. He continues the interview by laying out some of his plans and ideas for how he can improve the North American side of the Warships Community.

KamiSamurai announces a contest asking for the highest damage in a French Battleship up to Tier 8, with the winner getting a free Gascogne, sponsored by one of our listeners and Impact clan members! The contest ends Sunday at Midnight Pacific time, so take a screenshot of a battle between Friday at 12:01AM and ending Sunday Midnight and email it to warshipspodcast@gmail.com for your chance to win! We'll announce the winner on Monday morning!

Sailing on to our show topics we cover a new German Premium Destroyer being tested, the Z-39. A destroyer which many testers and contributor find lacking and in need of help. The cast and crew give their opinions of the ship in its current testing state and hope for improvements. Please remember that Z-39 is a work in progress and is subject to change. Ideas and speculation as to how the ship can improve are noted with each member of the show giving their opinions. Which also moves right into our next show topic which was about over and under powered ships.

The Podcast crew takes on the issue of what makes a ship over or under powered and debates the merits of the topic. Giving a myriad of examples, the cast talks about what ships they feel are over or under powered. Some ships of note were Imp. Nikolai, HMS's Belfast and Conqueror, HIJMS's Izumo, Kamikaze, and Ibuki as well as USS's Pensacola, Baltimore, Saipan and Sims.

Cruising to the finish we round out the show by discussing promotions. The Steven Segal promotion where players were able to earn a special captain modeled after the actor has now ended, and players who have earned the captain. May notice that the captain avatar has changed along with the name sake. Radar discusses promotions and breaks down the idea and purpose for them as well as the limited nature that they often entail. The new Twitch Prime promo is mentioned and the crew debates the merits of limited time offers.

Thank you everyone for listening, as well as your continued support of this show. See you next cast!

Episode 79: The Italian Cup

This week SupportTank and DaniExpert from the Italian Cup tournament sit down to tell us about how the Italian-only team tournament works. Kami and Kelorn are curious about their method of map selection and wonder what it might mean to be able to choose the map and team composition accordingly. Kelorn gives this week's quick hits, including the upcoming perma-space camos, an update to pan-asian and commonwealth flags, and an update to the test version of Abruzzi.

Getting into the details, Kelorn, Kami, and Dani talk about the recently released details regarding the down-tiered USN Heavy cruisers. They speculate about the effects of the concealment nerf to the lower tier ships and wonder how Pensacola will do at Tier 6. After having a couple of weeks playing them, the crew discusses what captain builds and upgrades are being used on the French Battleships, particularly at high tier.

The podcast gets rounded off with a teaser for next week's giveaway, as well as a discussion about downtiering Z-39 from Tier 8 to Tier 7.

Episode 81: A Wave of Re-balancing?

Hi listeners! Welcome back to another episode of the Warships Podcast. For this episode the crew covers a plethora of new topics and changes as well as some new test ships the cast has been working on. Please keep in mind that test ships and adjustments to live ships are subject to change and were provided by Wargaming as such, to evaluate, test, and discuss for you the community.

Full speed ahead straight into the topics this week, we start with the changes to the HIJMS Shimakaze base detection rating. Moving on we cover the changes to KMS Hipper and KMS Prinz Eugen, which get to different buffs to help improve the ships. One being a rudder and rate of fire change, verse the other ship getting a hull heal. The USS Midway carrier receives a hangar nerf changing its overall plane count and the podcast talks about this effect on carriers. The HMS Orion will be getting an accuracy nerf to its sigma value, where the crew discusses how this ship might perform to its peers. Further changes and adjustments to VMF Kronstadt and Stalingrad take shape. Though the cast has only been able to test Stalingrad. Continuing on course the new USN Cruiser's split is now advancing along and the podcast team goes over what they have tested so far as well as documented changes on the other super test ships. Changes are also coming to the ability for spotter planes to detect running torpedoes and more detailed ribbons are coming for carrier players.

Finishing out this show with some Quick Hits. The Austin Meetup is coming soon for those who want to check out the new North American Wargaming HQ. A video, reward, and video documenting the fix that Wargaming did to the frame bug issues is up. Rounding our Quick Hits and the show we bring up the Twitch Prime rewards and bonus' that have been coming for being a member.

Thank you everyone for listening and following us. Do not forget that next week Kelorn will be in St. Petersburg, Russia visiting Wargaming's main World of Warship development studio for the Community Contributor conference. We look forward to all the exciting news and information that we can bring to the Warships Community. Thank you again and see you next cast!

Episode 82: A Surprise KOTS Announcement, CC Summit Recap, Re-balanced USN Cruiser Testing, and more 0.7.4 changes!

Hi Listeners! For this weeks episode of the Warships Podcast, Radar X joins the show bringing a special announcement from Wargaming North America about the next King of the Sea tournament. In addition to this news, a myriad of changes and ship testing continue with new information about what ships and game mechanics are being worked on.

Sailing into the main show topics the podcast discusses the new USN Cruisers being tested, and how each of the ships feel to the cast members. Going over ships like USS Salt Lake City (Pensacola), USS Astoria (New Orleans), USS Pittsburg (Baltimore), USS Columbia (Cleveland) and USS Buffalo. Many of these ships have changed from their former selves where some have improved and others need help or have a vastly different play styles from the previous iterations.

Continuing on the topic of cruisers, the crew talks on the changes to the Russian Battle Cruiser's VMF Kronshtadt and VMF Stalingrad. Both ships are getting massive buffs and overhauls to make these ships more appealing and bring more utility to the game. Note though, the cast members have yet to try these ships and as always these things are subject to change. However these two ships are looking far more deadly and formidable and we look forward to testing them.

Rounding out our show discussion, the podcast crew discusses the other changes of note. Mainly to Tier 10 Carriers, i.e. USS Midway and HIJMS Hakuryu and how this will effect high tier gameplay and competitive gameplay formats like in King of the Sea. In addition to these changes, other notable adjustments come to ships VMF Varyag, KMS Z-39, KMS Prinz Eugen, RM Duca Delgi Abruzzi, USS Monaghan, and USS Massachusetts. The consumable slots are being adjusted for USS Columbia and USS Worcester where Worcester will get five total consumable slots.

On a more somber note the podcast would like to offer their condolences on the loss of a well loved Warships Community Member. Dseehafer recently passed away and we all will miss him dearly. Special thank you to the community for all the remembrance of him and support to his family.

Thank you everyone for listening and supporting our community and podcast. We look forward to seeing you on the next episode of the Warships Podcast!

I think you guys could take 5 min on this weeks podcast to discus the USS Olympia protected cruiser and her poor state. She needs funding for repairs and she may be turned into a reef soon if nobody goes and visits her. So please take 5 min to discuss her thank you.

39:18 Ranked Season 9

Hi Listeners! For this weeks episode of the Warships Podcast, we have a bittersweet one. This is the final episode for KamiSamurai who is leaving the podcast to go work for Wargaming North America in Austin, TX. There are many goodbyes from fellow Community Contributors and Kami took a moment to reflect on his time on the show. The show introduces Aerroon, who is now officially a full time crew member of the Podcast and will help the team going forward. The Community Contributor Program giveaways are also discussed as the crew explains the process.

Sailing into the heart of our show topics, the podcast crew discusses the new Admiral Halsey Campaign. Similar to the Yamamoto Campaign, this is a permanent commander that has special abilities and special rewards for achieving in match combat actions. Parts of the new USN Cruiser line split have happened and a new supply shop and feature is coming called “Arsenal”. Discussion about the USS Salem being the first ship earned by a new resource type called “Coal” is debated, as is the other resource “Steel”. Which will only be earned via modes like Ranked or Clan Battles. Arsenal may also include consumables like Signals, or Free XP, but these have yet to be finalized and as always, subject to change. Cruising to the finish the podcast crew debates this Ranked Season 9. Which has for many been a salty one. The team talks about the effects of irrevocable at Rank 10 and the nature of game play at Tier 10 for Ranked. The cast debates changes to what they feel would make ranked better going forward and expectations for future seasons.

In closing we part with our dear KamiSamurai who will be joining Wargaming. We wish him all the best, but we could not have done any of this without all of you. Thank you for supporting this show and the World of Warships Community. We look forward to seeing you next cast!

00:33 Console Announcement

15:21 Dev QnA Rundown

50:28 Arsenal Details and Clan Battles

Hi listeners! In this weeks episode of the Warships Podcast, the cast team goes over several major announcements and informational releases put out by Wargaming. These major pieces of news being the Community Contributor Q&A session, and the announcement about World of Warships coming to gaming consoles.

Starting with the console announcement, World of Warships has been officially stated that development on a console version of the game will come to the Xbox One and PS4 platforms. The crew covers this and gives their thoughts, feelings, and expectations as they speculate on what this means for the Warships Community.

Sailing into the heart of the shows subject matter, Wargaming recently hosted a Question & Answer session that Community Contributors got a chance to participate in. This session answers were open to the public and anyone could see Wargaming's response. Covering some of these topics the Podcast Crew gets into the Q&A with some notables which were: HIJMS Shimakaze, Tier 7 and 8 Cruiser abilities to have a “Comeback” mechanic, The gun options for HMS Conqueror, as well as how Radar is used in game and possible counters to radar. In addition to the Q&A, the new Arsenal Rewards system was expanded upon in greater detail and Clan Battles / Ranked were discussed with this news and information in mind.

Thank you to all our listeners, supporters, and the community for making this show possible, and we will see you next time on the Warships Podcast!
