Start Date?

Over on the WoT forums, someone said that they thought the "start" date of this game would be with the first gen Dreadnaughts (HMS Dreadnaught, USS South Carolina, SMS Nassau and the like).

 

So, that would mean that you'd have British County Class cruisers (the first run, also called Monmouth class, since a WW2 era is also called County Class...), US Wickes (4 Stack) DD and the like.

 

Is that true?

 

I think it would make a good starting point, especially since the pace of naval development is rather slower than the generations of a tank.

Um, when I said "start date" I meant "what time point with the game start at" (Which will evidently be around 1910).

 

Not the release date or the Closed Alpha date.

Around world war I is the area for the tier-1,if that was your question.

It was stated that they will start with the revolutionary Dreadnought in the early tiers (particularly Tier 2). Tier 1 ships so far are 1930's ships that were not quite meant to take part in fleet operations on their own (such as the patrol gunboat and the really small cruiser that have been confirmed).

 

They have also said, however, that pre-dreadnought ships MIGHT make it in the game as premium vessels.
