If you use the 1:1:3 loadout, keep an eye on enemy fighters and stay away from them, as your one fighter squadron won't be enough to protect your bombers in most cases. Try alternating your DBs and TBs, sending in the DBs first to set the enemy on fire and make them use their repair party. This will hopefully tempt any escorting cruisers into using their Defensive Fire, which has less of an effect on USN DB spreads. Then, send-in your TBs to flood the target once they've used their repair and the cruisers' AA ability is on cooldown. If you use the 3:0:2 loadout, be aggressive in engaging enemy planes, as you will be able to outfight anything the enemy CV sends up. This will allow you to keep friendly ships alive and your DBs will be able to attack without fighter harassment . Since you don't have TBs, try sending DBs after enemies that have already been set on fire by friendly CAs and been forced to use their repair party. Don't be tempted to try to alternate your DB squadrons: sending in one squadron at a time makes them too vulnerable to AA fire. Learning to use the manual drop for dive-bombers is key for USN CVs now. Also, try to get the 5 pt "Air Supremacy" skill as soon as possible; it's almost a necessity for high tier CVs. Edit: Whoops, mistyped the ratio for the bomber-heavy loadout as 1:2:2, when it is actually 1:1:3. Corrected now. It lost the 1/2/2 F/TB/DB loadout. It now has the 1/1/3 loadout.

4 [BINGO] Lufbery17 Members 22 posts 11,468 battles Report post #9 Posted July 15, 2016 Strike loadouat (1:1:3) all the way. Trolls will use the Air Superiourity load out every now and then. Worry about guarding your bombers and getting hits on target, friendlies be damned. Your bombers need to stay alive to get you money, so keep them escorted. Also, get the upgrades for strike aircraft survivability, this will save your bacon and allow for more damage to be done. Know when to stagger your bombers because they can survive the aa versus when to send one big horde in all at once. Most BBs can recover from a full onslaught at this tier, but not from burning to death via staggered dbs. Most importantly: Learn which vessels have garbage AA. Tirpitz, NC, IJN Cruisers, and DDs.
