So I was minding my own business at the Old Port of Montreal and then I saw one of these:

They say it's a Littoral Combat Ship, but what in the world is it doing in Montreal?

EDIT: Pics are taken by me! :Smile_teethhappy:

Excellent photos of the brand new USS Fort Worth (LCS-3) :Smile_great:

To answer your question, the vessels of the Freedom class are built in Marinette, Wisconsin. They do sea trials in Lake Michigan. You probably caught it while it was on its way out of the Great Lakes.

The Fort Worth is actually an improved design on the earlier Freedom. It is more stable and has a longer hull, increasing top speed and improving fuel economy by roughly 10%. IMHO, the Freedom class is showing to be much better than the Independence Class.

This was on Canadian ground and around a dozen other people was doing the same thing.

There was a police boat patrolling the area and 2 police officers guarding the dock, nothing happened.

No, but now you are on a FBI or CIA watch list as a possible spy :Smile_teethhappy:

USS Fort Worth (LCS 3) was commissioned at the Port of Galveston in Galveston, Texas, Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012.

Really? That was only a few weeks ago.

Damn ship builders are fast.

I remember back in WWII the U.S. could finish a Battleship in two weeks.
