Benign what to unlock next topic

Sticking to IJN.

At the moment I can unlock Amagi, Ibuki or Kagero. I play each kind of ship somewhat equally which is probably one of the reasons I stink. Just wanted general thoughts from folks who

have experienced these ships. I know this is not much to go on but lets see what happens.

Ibuki is mediocre, but it leads to the glorious Zao.

 

Kagerou is a blatant disappointment. Tier for tier Fubuki is a far better ship.

 

Amagi is a wonderful and powerful warship with amazing firepower. Just don't play it stock.

Amagi requires a lot of planning ahead

 

Ibuki is undergunned for a T9, although, if you have a 15pt captain, she can still be the ever annoying invisifire flamethrower.

 

Kagero is... just yeah... weakest T9 ship, by far.

Amagi (good) -> izumo (garbage) -> Yamato (amazing)

Kagero (garbage) -> Shimakaze (nerfed into underperforming levels)

Ibuki (decent) -> Zao (super OP fire ship)

Yeah I'd say go Ibuki. IJN DDs just got the nerf hammer so I doubt they will be fixing it soon. Zao is like Gavorche said super OP fire ship and could be in line for a nerf, but I doubt it. Izumo is from what I hear so bad you'd be grinding for awhile before getting to Yamato, but Yamato I'm pretty sure WG has said they aren't touching. So try out the Ibuki.

Kagero is garbage now.  All she has going for her is her best-in-class detection radius.  I loathe mine and have to force myself to take it out.  I should probably just use free XP to unlock Shima and sell it.

 

Amagi is boatloads of fun once you get her upgraded.  Highly recommended.  I won't ever sell mine.

 

Ibuki is... mediocre.  She's an up-tiered Myoko, honestly.  But she does lead to Zao, so there's that.

I'd unlock them in this order: Amagi -> Ibuki -> Kagero.

 

Amagi is very comfortable at her tier in almost every way, possibly being the most powerful BB tier for tier in the game. She's basically a tier 9 battleship in disguise. Great accuracy, heavy broadside, good anti-HE protection, sufficient armor when angling... Stay on the move and Amagi will not disappoint.

 

Ibuki is a very powerful HE spammer and don't let anyone convince you otherwise . She's arguably the best tier 9 cruiser, and certainly the most versatile one by a hefty margin, i.e. fit to carry hard. This is coming from someone who finished 3 out of 4 cruisers in the tier and is currently grinding through Donskoi.

 

I don't have the Kagero but she seems underwhelming from what I hear and see.
