Pigeon,

Can you guys stop the incessant message in PORT that talks about the Elements battle....keeps popping up after I dismiss it.   Very irritating.

thank you

All good points. My point was to have WoWS developers to look at these ideas in creating better teamwork in supporting their team mates and if these points are feasible in programming. It doesn't hurt to ask the question.

I understand. I was just expanding on the possible options that could help support team play and disincentivize selfish play.

Well I am at work and I thought I would post some ideas - I am a long time gamer, but I am not a programmer so I am not sure if any of these will work. And I did not read every post to see if any of these ideas have been already suggested so if they have I am sorry.

And thank you so much for this game I really enjoy it.

Have an idea to improve the game?

I would love to Co-Op improve and have more added to it – like missions, better rewards (closer to random levels), Bigger groups of teams.

For Random – I would like to see smaller and multiple teams like 6 teams of 5 etc. in a battle more of a free for all type of game.

More and bigger Maps many of them based of real world maps of real life battles.

The expansion of all the tech tree of ships. More choices of what ship you can go – Heavy Cruisers, etc. Reduce the experience cost of the ships.

Crews – As an ex- sailor I know how important a well-trained crew is for an ship, would it possible after an Elite Captain is made/assigned to a ship we could spend points on an Elite Crew? I am not too sure how this would work – maybe an Elite Crew makes the ship’s HP higher, to reflect the crew keeping the ship in top shape? Or they improve repairs on the ship during a battle – i.e. Damage Control Teams.

Got a favorite ship you would love to see in the game?

The three I would LOVE to see in Game – USS Olympia (C-6) I know it would be a lower tier ship but this Grand Old Lady I has been a love of mine since I visited her way back in 1980 while I was in the Navy. The history on this ship is just amazing.

USS Samuel B. Roberts (DE-413), All I can say about this ship is "the destroyer escort that fought like a battleship." maybe give extra HP and Special Speed boost to reflect her during the Battle

HMS Exeter (68) – We got the Admiral Graf Spee why not one more of her hunters?

Upcoming event you think we might benefit giving attention to?

I am kind of new to events and I like Fire and Water that is going on right now, so I am not sure what sure what to suggest here.

I do wish there was more prizes and it was open to Co-Op also.

Maybe an actual April Fools event?

As for some of your suggestions:

  • Free-for-all Randoms: Would only be populated by destroyers and cruisers. Battleships and Carriers are far to dependent upon team spotting.
  • Crews- The "Captain" system actually represents the crew system. If you think about it, it's not like it matters whether the Captain is an Expert Marksman or not, that is down to the Master Gunner. The system, however, is arranged like the Battlefleet Gothic Armada Skill system, in that you have a few options for each of a few categories, and you can't take all of them.

Personally, I agree with the distinction between Light and Heavy Cruisers, as well as lines that split into Light Cruiser lines (fast-firing Air Defense cruisers) and Heavy-Cruisers (miniature battleships). For example, if the USN Cruiser line were to split into a Light Line and a Heavy Line, you could move Cleveland up to T7 or 8 and put a different choice of cruiser down at T6 to make those poor Ryujo's and Independence's lives easier.

Hey Pigeon.

Just a suggestion for the Roon - pretty cool ship with the Nurn/Konigsberg style turret layout and strong secondary battery - how about buffing the range of the secondaries, maybe out to a base range of 6.5-7k's for those who like to brawl. Would add to her uniqueness and would certainly help those of us who run her with a secondary spec for brawling :D

Only if the AA is nerfed accordingly so that the USN cruisers can have their spotlight back.

Hey Pigeon, I wanted to hear your thoughts on this: http://forum.worldofwarships.com/index.php?/topic/123084-please-show-all-options-available-in-the-settings-menu-regardless-of-port-filter-settings/

I've been monitoring the thread the past few days and see it keeps getting views, but no replies. I don't know if it's just such an isolated thing or if nobody else really cares.(kind of frustrating from my standpoint, not knowing if anyone else agrees or not, or if they even have an opinion on the matter)

To put it briefly, ever since the ARP collab ended in December, and the ARP port was removed, the ARP voice options for the battle voice over setting were visible and usable without using the newly implemented(at the time) Arpeggio checkbox in the port filter. I don't know if this was intentional or not. Up until 0.6.4, you could select the ARP voices and use them without seeing the ships themselves, and changing settings in the global settings menu wouldn't override the voice over option selected. Now, if you change any settings, or quit the game without the Arpeggio checkbox selected, the game's settings revert to 'default' with the standard voice over option, even if an ARP voice was previously selected and being used.

In fact, there was another thread that came up about the voices missing post-0.6.4. http://forum.worldofwarships.com/index.php?/topic/123108-arpeggio-voices-gone/

In my short interaction with the member, I came to the conclusion that he didn't even have an ARP ship, as he didn't have the port filter option. Yet, he could use the voices prior to 0.6.4.

Basically, I'd like to be able to use the ARP voices without having to see the ships themselves(unless I'm using one, of course), just like I could pre-0.6.4.I don't know if this is a bug, or if it was intended, but I believe I explained everything in more detail, more clearly in the thread itself. Please have a look, and I would appreciate a response if possible.

Edit: Whelp, never mind, pointless post is pointless...

It's a bug, listed in the "Ongoing Issues" post.

Yeah, I caught that after posting because I had just noticed it was updated to 4/21.

Oh Great Feathered Bird of Impending Doom, Grief, Tears, and Many Other Bad Things including the Heartbreak of Psoriasis;

An idea: it would be nice if we could select a single ship from each of the three classes displayed in Dry Dock, (large CV or BB, med CA or CL, small DD), as our baseline ship which would be displayed in the appropriate slot unless we has selected a ship from the same class. Say I had designated Arizona, Ibuki, and Benson as my Lg, Med, and Sm ships, then had decided to play Kamikaze. Arizona and Ibuki would still display, but Benson would be replaced by Kamikaze.

Just a thought, but it would be nice to be surrounded by your favorite ships, so to speak.

Pigeon, I have a suggestion for you.  I play a good amount on a weekly basis but I don't play enough to have all the different flags you can fly memorized by sight.  I would love to see more/better organization of the flag choice area under the Exterior tab.  It would be wonderful if the flags were organized/sorted by those which provide an economic benefit versus those that provide a combat benefit versus those that provide an experience benefit.  It is frustrating to me (and likely to others and especially NEW players)  to have to hover over each one of them to find the one I'm looking for simply because I don't have them all memorized.

Just a suggestion but it is the small things like this that can mean the difference between a newbie staying and growing to love the game like I do or them dropping the game because it is too much to figure out.  I love the game and thank you for all your work on it!

Thanks, Pigeon, I appreciate it.  Oh, I was in a game with you a week or so ago and, yep, you sunk me.  With a good shot from distance IIRC.

I tend to play well at times. Thanks for being a good sport about it :)

Suggestion for the new premium port:

Put some dynamic lighting on the container ship. It's a shame that the rest of the port pops and opening containers is literally in the dark.

Pigeon, with memorial day upon us I am reminded that we have about 6 months until veterans day,, and so I am curious if there is any movement on the creation of the U.S.S. Tracy premium ship aka DD-214 that is mentioned in the ship suggestion section and is getting a little traction.. It is a great idea,, What can be from WG north america standpoint to get this pressed to where it needs to go overseas so it can happen in time? If there something else that needs to occur?

Not to say USS Tracy hasn't been suggested before because of the obvious joke that can be applied to it's name, but it's still a good idea. That said, ships do take quite a bit of time as you mentioned, and six months is about the time frame, as has been mentioned before. I can't promise you USS Tracy, but I can assure you of some awesome ships coming soon.

What, exactly, am I missing here?

Tracy, like, "Richard Tracy," the American 1930s Comic-book Detective? (the auto-censor wouldn't let me put his real name in)

I think it's in reference to DD-214, which if I recall is the DoD form for discharge from active duty.

Pigeon, apologizes if this has been suggested before but have you all thought about some kind of "non-movement" penalty?  That is, if you're sitting still or nearly still, say<5kts or so, that you take an additional 5% damage from shells striking you?  This may help with the bow camping meta since those ships just rock forward and back never getting up too much speed.  Either that or some kind of accuracy buff to incoming shells if you're not moving.  Again that would get folks moving and make it dangerous to camp behind an island.

I was in a battle the other night where I had flanked an Atlanta unawares who was camping and firing, unmoving over the island.  I laid the crosshairs on him dead center and let loose.  Against an unmoving target, I bracketed him with all the shots and had one overpen.  I have no issue with the RNG mechanics in the game and know and appreciate that it is part of the game and that it sometimes helps(!) with less than accurate aiming.

It just struck me right then as something which could increase the danger to sitting still.  Just an idea, I would not recommend going crazy with it - I'm not looking for instadelete if sitting still.  Just a little more pain to do so.
