So I watched some shows regarding the Hood and the Bismark. Now all I want are these ships added to wows...

First it's spelt Bismarck. Secondly Bissy should come relatively soon(the German BB line will come this year) while as far as Hood is concerned there's no information about a British BB/BC line(since who knows if WG will do a pure BB, a pure BC or a mix of the two for them)

Battlecruisers in WoWS do much better here than they did in RL (due to the exaggerated influence of angling, which boosts their survivability beyond historical levels), so I'm expecting the Hood to be pretty formidable in-game.  Play it like a 32 knot Amagi with 15" guns and a better armor belt (305mm v 254 mm) and you'll have yourself a fine ship.  If they give it good dispersion it'll be pretty great.

I really don't know how they will distinguish the Bismarck from the Tirpitz.  Maybe take away the torps and give it better sigma dispersion on the guns?  I wouldn't object to that: The Tirpitz dispersion is hilarious at anything beyond 12 km, and sometimes hilarious at ranges even closer.

I think Hood only really fits in as a premium owing to her singular nature. She'd be a potent T7 but would be very under-gunned in AA for T8.

German battleships estimated for August around Gamescom, although interviews/Q&As has WG mentioning the next ship line to be announced as early as late June.  Same interviews/Q&As has WG mentioning that the British Cruiser line is almost ready, and that battleship lines are not yet done but they're hoping for a December release, and if not, expect a 1-2 month delay.

For sure no torpedoes, since WG was only doing so as a test case for Tirpitz, and they did say that if they liked it, it would only be a Premium thing.  Supposedly the recanted that and now do not have any further plans to add torps to any future Premium BBs that had deck-mounted ones.  More likely just more AA and ruddershift if Bismarck gets a [C] Hull.  Like most battleship [C] Hulls.

I would guess Hood will be a Prem

I very strongly doubt it. The Admiral class had only one representative, HMS Hood, and would fit a battlecruiser tree perfectly at tier 7 with no other obvious candidates.

Source for that claim?

Wondering how this will play out myself.  WG would make a killing if they sold Hood as a premium, especially if it's long before the release of a dedicated RN battlecruiser tree.  Later on when the tree is introduced, the final hull of the generic Admiral-class could represent the planned upgrades that Hood never received.

I suppose they could do that and put a generic 'Admiral' with fantasy AA upgrades at tier 7.

^Not a thing.

The only real difference is there isn't Fleet formation type fighting like it would be "IRL"

Don't give WG more ideas...  Seriously, preordering is one of the silliest industry standards along with the whole Early Access model.  Preorders, by in large, make gaming companies lazy, stop doing it please.

I agree with Hood being a T7 in the normal tech tree, it would probably have to have a proposed dual purpose secondary battery refit to make it on par with other at tier opponents though.

Phones are odd like that at times, good on you for never falling for it.  I know I can't say the same.  It is an interesting topic in that some companies have made good on their promises, and others... not so much.  Regardless, when one buys it, you are buying their promises and good will (assuming they have any).  I'd rather save people from a potential Space Base DF9, or any of the other numerous failures (opinions may vary).

On topic, I look forward to a Hood with a 4.5" DP secondary battery ala Queen Elizabeth.  It will be glorious.

Nelson fits perfectly as the tier 7 BB in the Brit BB line (it just fits so very well with Colorado and Nagato), whenever that comes out. This makes room for Hood as a Tier 7 premium.

Much as I'd like to see it as a tech tree ship in a Brit BC line, I don't want to wait until 2019+ for it at that, the suggestion of a generic "admiral" in it's place in the tree is a good one.

Ah, but the Hood wasn't intended to be a single ship class.  She was a member of the Admiral class, which was supposed to have multiple sister ships.  But all the rest of the ships in the Admiral class were cancelled after Jutland.

Or they do two battleship lines like the US is due for. Infact the UK could comfortably do an armored battleship line then a BC/fast battleship line. US is planned for one. Lexington BC is due in that line.

Also, PSA; Hood was arguably the first fast battleship ever constructed.  She possessed protection on par with the Queen Elizabeth class and moved at 31kts as built.  Her fault was lacking a modern protection scheme, and not having been given a well needed refit of additional deck armor, an engine rebuild, and an improved secondary suite.  The last battlecruiser ever built would be the Kongo class, later to be rerated by Japan as a battleship; further confusing the blurred line between the classes.

I totally agree (This guy cannot wait to have his Nevada btw). I'm just hopelessly impatient and don't want to wait for either Hood or Nelson, so this is my solution to getting them both with the initial release of the Brit BBs.

Lexington BC should be interesting.  Less armor than Hood or even Amagi, but a 33-35 knot top speed along with high-velocity 16"/50 rifles.  Can't wait to play her.

I thought I read here the other day that German BB's coming in Augustish?

Although, you could just get the Tirpitz now if you want the bismarckymark&thefunkybunch. I think the Tirp is the Bizzy's preemie cousin.
