Been getting a lot more Base XP than normal in this little guy. 20-30k damage and 30-60 planes a match is getting 2k base on a win, 4-6k with bonuses.

Why are you using AS to begin with?

 

Because he either sucks at doing manual drop with torping or he's a horrible, horrible person. I'm guessing the former :P

I use my Lexington or North Carolina if I want to do damage. Saipan is an excellent AS platform for the team and it is amusing to delete DD's.

Because fighter config Saipan murders enemy CVs (save maybe fighter config Ranger) and I have dealt out more Detonations in her than any other ship.

With air supremacy and some skill at fighter strafing, 2/2/0 Saipan also dominates same-tier enemy CVs. Without the skill it's tougher, because per-squadron ammo is almost too low.
