Literally JUST started playing my second match trying to get that flag mission done (the one for that commemorative flag and such) and trying to earn more xp to get the Colorado when BOOM

Power goes out. Literally right as my Molotov gets rolling....

I guess the universe doesn't want me playing tonight... :(

And to the players I left hanging that match, I am truly sorry... at least they probably figured something bad happened since I had left a comment right before it went out...so they saw I was active at least... :(

[edit] oh, and this just gets better. Just checked the weather tonight....

partly cloudy, no chance of rain, winds at a max of 1 mph...

so literally no reason for the power to go out... except I know for a fact my power company is a steaming pile of [CENSORED] and [CENSORED] with a side of [CENSORED AGAIN]!!!!!

And this is why punishing AFK players is a mix bag. Sometimes its not the players fault they aren't there, the world has decided that this captain won't be playing. I feel your pain OP, one day a month back I was getting ready to enjoy my day off with some early WoWs when the Internet died. Someone ran off the road, hit a pole and turned the internet off for several hundred people. Didn't get back online till 8 hours later. Its amazing what you can get done and the people you will get to know when the net goes dark.

If it makes you feel any better I know exactly how you feel. The power company where I am at is a big steaming pile of dog poo too. Clear as day outside and the power will randomly go out.

I dont blame you guys. I got disconnected 5 times today because my local ISPs are putting fiber optic lines in across the highway from me.

Edit:

Not even rain, snow, etc.?!??!?!?!??!

How does that even work? O_o

I honestly wish I knew...

I mean, it did rain a little bit earlier when I left work, but only for like 20 minutes and it barely sprinkled. Been dry and clear most of the day with minimal wind. :(

Power is back on though but it really killed my want to play now... :(

It could have been anything really. A town near me lost its power for a whole day when a raccoon got into a substation and fried itself, blew a transformer. Where I live we lost power and internet [the fiber is hung off the power polls] when a man in the county backed a backhoe into the lines and ripped all the lines down. Why he was driving around with the digging arm all the way up is beyond me.

Personally my favorite internet outage was when a company laying a main fiber line in the middle of my state cut the Comcast line and half of my state went communication dark for several hours. You would think they knew to call before they dig but you would be wrong lol.

Good call on snatching up the improvised explosive cocktail while you have the chance.  The guns on that thing are FRICKIN' LASERS. :playing:

My power often goes off at the most inopportune moments as well, but at least here it's usually accompanied by a nice thunderstorm to watch from my balcony.  In fact, I am seriously considering upgrading the surge protectors for both my computer and home theater system into beefy UPS's so this will never again be an issue.
