Having trouble aiming? Maybe not RNG

I was having a pretty bad day aiming with my ARP Kongou. Couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. So at one point in a game it dawned on me,

Maybe I should change my crosshair.

So I did, two seconds after, i killed a DD, two Cruisers, and a Battleship.

Still trying to find citadels, which can be frustrating.

Point is, don't choose one crosshair and be stubborn about changing them. It's real quick and easy to swap them out and get right back into the fighting.

Have a nice day~

Confirmation Bias is all,    You had a bad RNG string, changing the gun sight to another gun sight created by teh same gun sight creator most likely  only did one thing,  led you to believe the change did all the work.

I changed to #7 cross hair and haven't looked back. I really dig this cross hair for long range shooting. In fact the second game using it I sank a fleeing angled German tier 6 cruiser with 3 citadels from my Warspite. Having those angled lines is super helpful to me.

It depends on the user's perception, some sights are easier to use rather than others for different people.

Part of what is making people think that their aim is off or bad RNG is it seems they fixed the hash marks on the stock cross hair to be the right level of lead.  Pre this patch I always had to lead by more then you should have had to since the marks are supposed to be 1 sec for a 30knot ship (If my memory is working).  I was finding that I had to lead by 8 sec for a 5 sec travel time though on a straight broadside Kongo closest thing to exactly 30 knots.  Now I can put it at the 5 sec mark and hit right where it should.  Really threw me off for the first couple of matchs till I was able to switch gears to the new lead.

These are Aslain Mod crosshairs or in-game? I should switch to one that's meant for BBs, I'm not doing so well in my Nagato.

Idk, if you're saying that I created a placebo effect then it certainly worked, I did notice that the crab crosshair I was using took up a lot of space on the screen compared to the dynamic crosshair

A lot of the aslains crosshairs were implemented into the game files itself. Check the controls tab.

Man I keep hearing this stuff and I find nothing to change crosshairs but to either static or dynamic.

EDIT wait found them finally

Too much clutter on the screen, I hate those sights, your eyes start wandering as you are fighting.  Plain and simple,  line with range indicators is all I need.

How funny. I'm going thru IDENTICAL issues in the ARP Kongo.

RNG has been absolutely terrible today.  Where as yesterday, RNG was really really good as usual.

One crosshair doesn't fit all. This is true for even the military in real life.

Switching from the stock barebones aiming reticle to one with a spiderweb of 6 lines crisscrossing was a night and day difference for me.

I could hit ships going sideways or forwards or away from me at long range but never when they were traveling at a angle in relation to my view.

After the change with reference markers I could nail them much better.

My overall stats went up a fair bit after that although that is probably partially related to how when lots of different shades of light grey and white are mixed together closely they kinda blend in to me and I can't tell the difference between the crosshairs and the ship I was targeting.

YMMV but changing the crosshair was one of the best things I did to improve my gameplay

RNG is like my schools bunny, hops around all over the place evading you with such skill, but when you finally manage to pick it up and hold it, it's the sweetest and cutest thing ever.

I'm used to using one of the sights in Aslains mod pack.

I can't hit anything with these new sights. I was missing a Russian cruiser from 10km away in the Cleveland...

hoping they bring them back.

Scored 5 hits last round.

Yeah well any idiot can hit a target at 300 meters with a well tuned acog. Iron sights, that's something else.

I switched over to the dynamic crosshairs, and had a huge game in my Wyoming!  I was nailing everything in sight- even the low probability hits.  I got 5 citadels before I ran out of enemies...  Had a better than average game in NY, too. ( that would have been even better if my teammates didn't shoot so strait as well, lol)

I wouldn't mind trying out one of the spiderweb ones, but can't figure out how to access them...

Wow, i completely forgot to try out the new crosshairs.  I'll test them tomorrow and see how the spider one works. :)
