In the new patch they added torpedo defense values.

 

The North Carolina has some of the worst TD for a battleship in the game. However, before the patch when you looked at the ship description for the North Carolina, I distinctly remember the text talking of a "novel torpedo defense system" that was introduced with the North Carolina. Today, with the update and now that you can see the terrible 19% damage reduction for torpedoes that the NC gets, WG removed the text talking about some sort of imaginary defense system haha

They also say it's got good armor but we know that's a lie.

Well historically the North Carolina class was very well protected....against their original battery of 14" guns. They were not well armored against either high velocity 15" guns or any 16" gun

I love how the Amagi gets the best TDS it just shows how laughable WG methods are.

Yeah I look around at the IJN battleships and I was comparing them to the USN ones, and then I realized: hey, this is actually pretty balanced.

 

Oh wait I forgot to look at the stats once they get their hull upgrades in... Nvm...
