How do you guys turn down people who order you to take a cap but don't support you?
There is a very big misconception even in high tiers I find that DDs... especially IJN DDs are there to contest caps.

I do it when it is smart to do it but every single time someone tells me to cap - THEY NEVER PROVIDE COVER.

There are a lot of bad team players in this game. I want to play along but seriously getting old doing all the work controlling an area and nobody doing anything until after you die but they're all happy to steal your frags. -_-

rant rant rant salt

Remember that some or many are just kids who play the run-and-gun game or lone wolf.  Not all but when your surrounded by a few thats all it takes when you go charging in and expecting the calvary to get your back and while concentrating...you noticed...WHERE ARE THEY????

THATS why I check the mini map after I get blown up to see how much coverage I got before ESC to port!   I tell myself over and over..to wait for team coverage but you know some just make a U-Turn and run off.   What can you do?...nature of the beast..

Only way you'll ever get any chance of reliable team work is in team battles, where you player with the same group. Random will never be anything more than a crap shoot...:teethhappy:

Team Battle? What is this mythical beast of which you speak?

Oh; you mean that thing where if you actually know someone besides yourself who plays WoWs you can get together and MAYBE have more control over gameplay?

You don't have to KNOW anyone to play as a team but have the will to coordinate your attacks to bring down the enemy.  Its a given if you and another decide to engage an enemy two on one are better odds. The lone enemy cannot target two at a time.  While your buddy is pounding that enemy you can come up and pound on that enemy and the enemy will take some damage very quickly. This is not to say thay your buddy might die in the process but its a toss up YOU or HIM will probably prevail in th end.  If you both survive - agree on the next target and on it goes.   As they say if your plans are sound then the outcome can almost be a given.

Team Battles = (up to) 15-minute queue times (that I've experienced)

I'd play more of them if this wasn't the case.

Find a few people you can div with and then work on developing teamwork and supporting each other, in the end it can greatly improve your gameplay and makes it so You can rely on your team.

In my experience, people who say they got your back usually do. But earlier this week I was in Gremy and a Pepsicola told me he had my back, but turned around as soon as he saw a Nagato on the other side. They were THREE frickin Pepsis plus me, we could have burned/torped that Nagato to the ground, but they chose to run. I was spotted, I died, and shortly after they all died :fishpalm:

two games in a row...

i specifically tell the BB not to follow me and that i was just going to touch the cap and move back and join the middle. not only does it follow me, it tries to hunt down the cv... cv went counter clockwise the other direction...

then next game the entire team goes east and i specifically say "are we going to leave the west completely exposed?" and they answer "yes"... how the hell do you expect to win a domination game if you don't control the middle?

I almost always sprint for an early cap in a domination game cause caps = xp. If I have support I try to hold it. If it goes all "ants at a picnic" behind me I'll slip away and look for advantageous positions. Trying to hold a cap on your own in a "one shot" torpedo boat is a fool's errand (unless a BB driver decides to camp in place in which case I drool and take my damage bonus.)

I totally agree with you, and if airplanes start buzzing me, it's time to beat feet to a Cleveland for some AA action. Also, once I've  speed boosted to the cap, I like to 3/4 speed and start angling my ship to line up a torpedo shot if another DD shows up.
