Is Trident a new map?

Trident is indeed one of two new maps, the other is named Mountain range and the existing map 'North' has a Cyclone event.

Looks like upgrades of "Islands" of low tier (which I love).

I had a match in Trident yesterday also. It's a really cool map

 

Also did mountain range ... it's interesting, but really forces you to rethink strategy as the map splits north-south rather than east-west like most.

I only have up to T7 boats (Pensi & Lanta), nothing higher...to date, I've only experienced the Trident.  Really Really easy on the eyes for game play.

 

Wondering how stupid I will be in buying the Atago, I'm not exactly a stellar skipper.  Hand/Brain/Eye coordination thang!!! =P

The Dasha video indicated Mountain Range is T7 and T8 (not sure what that means), and Trident is T3-6

Indeed, its been added in the new patch, and I am enjoying this new warship greatly.

Trident is a fantastic new map.  Enough islands to provide cover.  Small enough so you don't have to sail for 10 minutes to find the bad guys.  Overall 9/10 for Trident.

I really hope they add more maps like this~! the new theme, and style of gameplay is much appreciated.

I know that is what the video said, but I think it is wrong.  I was in the New Orleans on Trident one time and Mountain Range in a Zao.  Mountain Range is ok for T10, but I think Trident may be too small for T8 battles... it was over pretty quick, though it was a nice change of pace.

Love the map but it is to big for the tier it sees. Was just on it in a T6ish que and it is slooooow.

Interesting to hear. I was hoping they had Trident in mind for the lower mid-tiers, since they were bumping Two Brothers up. Otherwise, the map rotation gets even worse for the mid-tiers.

 

Then again, it may end up being like how Strait started out, with T7(8?) sitting in the spawn and firing across the map. Was not fun being bottom-tier in those.

I think they are both pretty cool maps. But maybe that's just because anything new plays out differently, and that's always fun.
