Hey WoWs...thank you for the premium time to make up for the terrible 0.5.5 patch. I won't bore you with bug reports, you get lots of those.

I want to tell you that premium time is not a good reward. Perhaps it once would have been, when the game was fun, but now that I am grinding all higher tiers, I would much prefer you give me some gold.

Nevermind that the "free" economy of the game is already broken, you folks need to start giving out huge amounts of gold just to make the grind worth the pain involved. It's been months since I was having enough fun in the game to play every day, so the premium time will largely go to waste.

Please start spreading gold around so that the game can be remotely enjoyable for players who are not willing to spend huge sums to buy gold on their own.

thanks,

A very unhappy but compulsively addicted player

Well, the game is entirely functional without gold, and you can achieve everything you want without it...  just takes longer. They also need to make a profit. Honestly, this is one of the most effectively structured free-to-play games I've seen to date.

My guess is that you are actually enjoying the game the way it is. It has been some time since that has been the case for me. Unfortunately, I am compulsively driven to come back to WoWs, even when I know it is going to make me want to bang my head against the wall.

I just wanted them to know that giving away gold is a much better reward than premium time.

Signed,

Unhappy but Addicted

Given free gold/Premium time/etc, and there will always be someone who complains that it isn't enough and they "deserve" more.

Not to put too fine a point on this, but perhaps you should consider getting some professional help.  If you're compelled to take part in an activity that you no longer enjoy, that's not good for you, your family, *or* Wargaming.

I understand the OP's point, but I argue Wargaming has given away quite a bit for free. Some ships, premium time, events that give you coins etc (Just hit a ship 3 times with main gun?!?!).

Now compare with other AAA launch titles that many pay $100 plus for..... The game as a whole is arguably better then most, if not all and for $0. Then less then a year later Game 2 comes out and no support for game 1 anymore, even if it is broken.

I also argue, WOWS even more then WOTS is about as fair and balanced as NOT pay to win (yeah they sell high tier ships that can fail a team, but generally the ship itself isn't OP). Now Wargaming "made" me buy premium time and ships because they made it cool and I wanted to support the devs, how dare you WARGAMING!

Good joke.

This is a free to play game where the monetization directly affects the meta.

It's a game that tries to use grind as incentive to pay up, but even paying up fails to alleviate the grind.

Port slots?

Captain retraining?

New captains?

I think if people found more pleasure in the journey (aka: grind) and worried less about the destination, they'd enjoy the game more. It would be a pretty worthless game if everyone were sailing around in tier Xs. The need to grind is partly an incentive to pay (without obligation to), but also an opportunity to experience ships you might otherwise pass up.

Edit: I'll admit to tunnel vision when there's a ship I want and I'm not getting there fast enough. But how much more rewarding is it when you FINALLY get that ship you've been working for? It's a principle that can be applied in life. The harder you work for something, the more you appreciate it. The converse is also true. Hence, why welfare is dangerous...

captain reskills, which with the recent torpedo changes on Japanese destroyers, would be nice to have.

That, and the occasional equipment didmount.

Also, once you get to mid-tiers, you're almost forced to spend doubloons to retrain for a new ship.

I think the premium time is fine. Be thankful they were nice enough to give that to everyone.

That's what surprises me most. WG isn't obligated to give us anything. Sure, they're in the business of satisfying a customer base and making a profit, but the fact that their continuing to improve the game and release new content is amazing considering it's free-to-play. I find it so amusing when people get offended they didn't give us MORE free stuff. It's a sad state of society we live in.
