...except that in the matches I've played so far since updating, no one has managed to sink me yet.  :P

While I haven't yet gotten a first-hand, close up experience, looking through binocs I've noticed how much longer capsized hulls of other ships stick around.  It's a nice enhancement to the atmosphere of the game.  One of the things that annoyed me with previous versions of the game is that ships sank way too rapidly.  You went "BOOM" and three or four seconds later you were gone, and your own ship always went down on an even keel (even if it was blown apart).

So, ya.  Nice touch with the new animations.

Have you noticed if ships stay visible if they're destroyed in the shallows?

Yes and they create a Torpedo no fire zone for a good bit of time

I spent more time in the PTS observing my own ship sinking than actually playing well. My favorite is the ship capsizing, going down by the stern, then the stern breaks off and the rest of the ship levels off a bit before going down again.

From my perspective something looks off. There is a slight delay and then the ship sinking animation begins. It doesn't look continuous.

They remain for the duration of the game???? I'm about to have a mind-gasm if this is true? Any pics? =D

Sadly, I have another 6 hours till I get to see for myself. The joys of having a day job.

No, I suspect ships still sink through the sea floor.  I've observed ships get destroyed in shallow areas but their hulks were no longer there after a few minutes.

Also would mean the actual use of guns in mid on Two Brothers. Enough ships in there and torps can't make it through!

This would be sweet.

On another note, got a chance to take a dip into some of the new patch and I have to admit- the sinking animation (we destroyed a BB and she just rolled over and sank bow first... then there was the release of air from the bulkheads etc- the ships dying breath. Have to admit... very well done! That's the only one I noticed... not sure if there are others.

Nope, Just while the wreckage is there.  I estimate maybe a minute or so tops.

Yes, ships that die in the shallows rest on their side now...a blackened ghost ship-
