Karma and player stat question

Im not entirely sure how Karma works, or that it really matters. Ive been complimented several times by other players for I guess good team work. Lost 2 in one battle because I messed up and got tunnel vision. I can understand that, we all derp sometimes. But this is what annoys me about Karma:

 

Was just in a battle in my Atlanta on 2 Brothers. 2 Brothers doesnt suit Atlanta very well, but you get what you get. Anyway, I asked at the start if the CV wants escort. Got a smart answer about hookers (like thats original) so screw it, began escorting our Iowa. A Kiev was out in front headed to the East cap. Came up against an Atlantas worst nightmare, A Tash backed up by 2 cruisers and a BB. The kiev was getting pounded so he bailed, not that I blame him. This left me blind, between my Iowa and the enemy. Got focused but am pretty good at dodging and retreated a bit. This Iowa asked me where Im going, so I told him am getting focused. CV attacks him, I pop AA for him. Kiev comes back up and we lay into a cruiser and by now 2 DD's, still backed up by a BB 12km away. The DD's never got closer that 9 km from me, and I basically suicided trying to protect this damned Iowa who by now was IMO yoloing. He of course got torped and that was that. Left me facing by now 5 enemies alone (Kiev had succumbed by now as well). This numb skull had the audacity to say that he reported me. For what, Im not sure. Ive seen Atlantas burned down by Tashkents and Kievs 1v1 and there is nothing the Atlanta driver can do about it. And thats just one ship I was facing. I looked at his stats, and they are abysmal. 

 

So, my question is: Is it possible to have a way of defending yourself against people who blame you for their own short comings, or does it really matter? Second, is there a way do see a players stats in game so that you dont end up trying to escort some idiot who is only going to get you killed?

People are idiots, you just gotta live with it. Don't look too much into karma or stats, just play and have some fun.

Currently, karma is only there for your own benefit. As I understand it, you get a karma point when someone compliments you for playing well or assisting in chat. You lose karma for the opposite. 

 

I honestly wouldn't worry too much about it. The stat isn't available for others to see, and it should probably stay that way. 

 

If you want to see if someone is worth escorting, pull up their profile on WoWS or Warships.today/na

Karma is going to rise and fall ! Do well and be glad when complimented do not worry about being reported. Players can very well report one at any time for no reason and are more likely to do that than compliment you

I get too many hackusations to ever have more than 1-2 karma points... The better you play, the more often you are reported by salty scrubs

I see Karma Points. Not sure if a number or range of any size is a good thing or a bad thing. I do know that I certainly don't care to be judged by others. I am not judging them nor do I suspect that anyone is even interested in what I might or might not think about someone. I just play the game and try to get better at strategies to win with.

My opinion, the developers ought to do away with Karma.

i finally figured out where this karma number is located, I think. Anyways I have 13 so you can have more than 10.

Highest I have ever had was around 32.  Currently sitting at 28. 

Other then that, it is completely meaningless IMO.

I really hope high karma eventually allows you to fly a pink and purple care bear flag. Mine is getting high, and I would replace my jolly roger with that [edited] in a heartbeat just for the giggles.
