So, grinding away in my New Mexico toward North Carolina.  Researched Colorado, but didn't buy it.

Tech Tree says 120K points to research NC, and I finally get there.  Got more coins than I can figure out how to spend.  Click on NC in tech tree, anxiously anticipating (you KNOW how it is!!!) and the price is 164K.  Guess the sale went away and they forgot to change the price in tech tree.

Arrgh...grinding away!

The 120k is without the research price of the modules that lead to the NC, in this case the B and C hulls of Colorado.

Wait are you trying to use NM research credit to research the NC? That....that isn't how it works.

He is trying to use free experience to bypass the Colorado. I feel it is a mistake to bypass any ship you have no experience with and not being an alpha or beta he doesn't have that experience.

How is it possible to reach that level, and not understand that certain upgrades are required to move to the next ship? :amazed:

Oh pay to pass? Yeah that would work....but why? Colorado isn't a bad ship...not good as NM but not a bad ship. I mean I'm guilty of using the pay to pass method to avoid stock hulls but not passing an entire ship...well unless you count the Karl but that doesn't count :teethhappy:

Bypassing the Colorado will put you at a serious disadvantage in play later on

I researched the CO, bought it, played a few games..meh, sold it.  Stayed in NM to build points for NC.

I'll freely admit I don't get the whole hierarchy of ship progression and modules/captain skills/transfer/retraining subset of the game.  I totally don't get the modules concept of "good aspect vs. bad aspect" (like reload faster for slower traverse speed) I'm an older guy who just wants to play for entertainment.  I really enjoy the adrenaline rush...without needing Icy Hot or Motrin!  (I'm a retired Marine who was also a sheriff and EMT...it's been a "sporty" life.)

I've read forums for info on play and tactics...very little for strategy of ingame progression.  I recognize the dev's have a master plan...I just don't know what it is or how it works.  THAT'S WHY I ASKED THE QUESTION IN THE OP.

The reason I LIKE bb's is because it's a shell/torp/bomb magnet....EVERYBODY focuses on the bb which leads to lots of action.  May sound strange, but I love getting jumped by 2 or 3 other players plus planes...if I make it to the end of the battle..sauce for the goose.  I look forward to fighting against higher tier bb's.  I would love more team play...the sense of working together.

And...some of you could have just 'splained it to me politely without the talking down part.

That was a mistake, the Colorado gets much better once you get to the second & third hulls.

Moondoggie, would you be interested in joining a division for better teamplay?

Know how you feel, I am an older player and drive the Texas, love it when two or three go after me, I die but most time I take one with me and cause a hurt on a few others. I love blowing Destroyers out of the water, they are quick and most time they get me but the times I have sunk one with a salvo it sure feels good. (hate those little ants, quick and run in all directions)
