Clear Sky in the Atlanta

Took me 4353 battles, 294 in the Atlanta to get my first Clear Sky.

How with only 40 kills ? Had 62 : my highest ever and did not get it . I already have 3 but those were before the change ( 1 with 52 kills ) and thought I might get it with the 62 kills about a month ago .  Where there CCV's in the battle ? Can you show us ( me ) the team screen and results screen ?

To get solo warrior you need to be in the PERFECT match.

 

Do it like this:

Take Low-Tier CV

Team controls capture points for the majority of the match

Team does massive damage to enemy ships - but succumbs therefore, you are the only one left.

At this point, you can either wait the until the time runs out, or if the enemy ships are low-health you could very well destroy them and win it for the team - thus granting solo warrior.

I was pretty stoked about in the chat, the opposing CV was.... not.

 

It was surprising, after I'm done playing I'm going to watch the replay because honestly i don't remember clicking many planes (wait... do you even have to do that now?!?). Only thing I can think is that there weren't many float planes or something and I must have gotten just enough. I dunno though?

I was thinking about playing Umikaze till my fingers fell off, figured it was as good ship there is to try for it.

According to http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Achievements_(WoWS), you need to destroy over 50% of the aircraft (includes at least 30 aircraft total) but it includes float planes.  Perhaps this is why a lot of people are not getting the achievements?  Sorry for my ignorance in advance lol.

It is exactly that reason. By tier 8 the CVs are packing at least 72 planes, so minimum 36 shoot downs to get the award. However, just about everything other than a DD has floatplanes (usually at least 3, and the Russian cruisers are shaking this up). If you assume an average of 3 DDs on the enemy team, you've usually got 7 ships with floatplanes. That's another 11-12 minimum shoot downs.

 

Around about 50 planes shot down at tier 8 is the minimum area where you'd expect to get the reward. I believe BBs generally have access to more floatplanes, and I'm not sure if the hangars of cruisers with radar count or not. It's nearly impossible to achieve with 2 high tier CVs on a team as well.

 

Tier 7 is about the limit where I'd expect to see the award every once in a while as you not only have a better chance of seeing lower tier CVs with smaller hangars, but there's also the Saipan with a much smaller hangar than the Ranger/Hiryu.

Do you have to control click in surface ships now? I'm guessing no, as I didn't much.

I'm surprise that ryujo didn't realise any plane going near you was getting obliterated. He still went after you for more waves afterward. Nice clear sky XD.
