Hello Captains,

In an attempt to get comfortable playing CV's, I've been debating about installing Aslain's modpack for the training room feature.  However, it is the only feature I want to use with the install.  Would I be able to install the pack and not have to implement the rest of the mods that come with it?

Cool.  Is this mod affected by WoW patch updates?

Yes , you have to move the files from one folder to the other after updates

WOWS>RES_MODS>0.5.4.1

You have to move the files from 0.5.4.1 to 0.5.4.2

Or what update will come next 0.5.X.X

Well you dont have to move anything actually... WoWs deals with the mod folder every patch, usually by creating a new mod folder for the patch. Hence the old mod folder "path" is not part of the game "path" so no mods get utilized. Any mods which may install somewhere other than the mod folder really should not be utilized.

Every patch will usually break most mods so you go a couple days until the mod gets patched to the latest release.

Be careful though... when you start flipping through the mods you may find there are far more mods out there you will enjoy than you expected. I liked the map mod which puts the letters/numbers grid on the other side of the map. Then you got the mod to tag aircraft with the carrier name... and the semi-transparent map mode... and the yellow torp mod... and... well you get the idea.

One of the nicer visual mods used in port enhances the smaller carousel images to higher quality images. In any case, have fun. And should you want to remove all the mods and the modpack, use the Windows uninstall method.

After the latest update, the training room no longer availalble.

I did uninstall and reinstall and same thing. I will try moving the file as you indicated here.

yes. It lets you pick and choose only what you want.

Also, despite some other comments in this thread, can confirm training rooms work in current build.

For minor patches, just renaming the res_mods/folder works, but not always. For major patches it does not.

e.g. renaming from 0.5.4.1 to 0.5.4.2 broke it for me. I removed the mods and waited a day, for Aslain to patch the mod system. Now all works again as advertised.

The training room mod frequently breaks with major patch update. It's best to check and download the Aslains pack after major updates. The nice thing about the pack for your situation is that the installer for the Aslains pack does not include all of the mods found on its checklist, so there is less stuff to download for those who are not interested in some of the bigger mods. It will remember your original mod settings on your computer too, but there isn't much of a notification if a particular mod, like if the training room is still out of date, is unavailable outside of the patch notes on one of the screens you'd rapidly click "Next" past.

It has a checklist where you choose the mods you want.

This, there are no mods installed by default.

While they are not phishing scams they are ad feeds that are almost virus like in how hard they are to get rid of. The safest thing to do is use the direct link.

Although training room frequently breaks, it has worked for me the last two updates and just needed moving to the correct folder.

Yes. Most AV programs are flagging it because it's a relatively unused file. Norton flags it every time he updates it, but have had zero issues with it.  Ran a deep scan the very first time I installed some mods, and nothing turned up. Even ran Malwarebytes, and nothing there as well, other than the usual tracking cookies it deletes. Just watch all the ad crap as others have mentioned.   I personally use the in game clock and damage counter, an alternate sight, and an alternate ship contour with basic info for the ship type on it. Although most of that info is second nature now.  Found 9 times out of 10, I can just swap these over with no issues after a minipatch, etc. Extended Tech Tree and Clear Vision are nice as well.

Ok, thanks for the tips.

What's the purpose for the damage counter that the game doesn't already cover?

Also, since some of the posts in here were somewhat contradictory, what is the required to do after each patch to keep the mod pack useable?  Do I actually have to manually relocate files?

They show in in real time as you play. (sadly not those dots damage). Some option also show correct damage done at the first result screen (that show ribbon-battle result), great for screenshot.

Aslain release new modpack every wows update. You can just re-download and install it to work. But in the mean time when he at work, you can manually move mod folder, sometime it work, some time not
