premium ship vs tech tree ship

Does anyone know if the ship modeling is better on premium?  Such as higher quality rendering or anything?

 

Just had a game with a saipan and it looks almost as if they take more time or something on the premiums in terms of rendering quality and colors n such.. 

 

I could be wrong, but worth asking, maybe need a dev to answer specifically but maybe some of you guys already know?

Saipan has been modeled for ages and was originally intended to be in the regular CV line. I think the skin is enticing you more than the model itself.

Premium camo's (the default ones that come on the premium ships at least) cover up all the rust that is normally on the ships, so that might be why it looks like they've spent more time modeling the premium ships.

Premium ships have less rust and unique camouflages instead of just a pattern slapped on a rusty model, so they give off the impression of looking better.

Oh god this, the premiums look amazingly good but that's because rust doesn't exist on them under that paint.

Actually there is still rust on the hulls, WG just covered it up by using the camo as a new layer of paint. Here's a comparison of Atago with and without her premium camo.

 

 

 

Though I will admit, compared to Myoko, it does seem that Atago might have a bit less rust overall on the hull.

Never really thought about it, but my Mikheil Kutzov looks fantastic.  Maybe they do spend a little more effort on modelling something players pay real $$ for.

The 22,500 credit paint is all "Damn, girl, you fine."  The look is worth the loss of 50% bonus XP.

hehehe the most rusted ships in naval history were the poorly maintained cold war (especially near the end) Russian navy ships, so its Russian BIAS again (jokes,umm maybe not..hehehe) And yes my MK is pretty shiny!

Yeah, I would be gone for months at a time while you waited to do the missions to unlock me.

And I'd make sure the missions were totally impossible to do too that would prompt nothing but kill stealing and frenzied hate on the boards.  All missions would have to be completed in a tier 6 ship, cause reasons.  And they would totally be themed to the Warspite and my inclusion in general.  Cause I'm learning to be a jerk.

 

• Stage One:  "Block it with your face."

  Collect 1,000,000 received.  Damage does not count if your ship is sunk.

   

• Stage Two:  "Intensify forward firepower, I don't want anything to get through!"

  Get 10,000 hits with secondary guns.  Hits discounted if you get hit by a torpedo.

   

• Stage Three:  "+1."

  Be totally nice and collect +60 positive karma.  If you already have 60 karma, grats.  Prepare to be negged into oblivious by all of the jealous peoples when you bring out your new ARP Warspite.
