Been playing for about 2 weeks and am completely addicted.  Used to play Strike Fleet on the old Apple IIC, Harpoon and Fighting Steel when I went to a PC but WoW is so far beyond them.  Love the graphics, the artwork and attention to detail.  Looking forward to scoring the Cleveland soon!.

Noo my child! Do not touch the USN line!! IT IS CURSED.

Now for real, i don't recommend the USN line, it's the first line i started with and since then it's been nerfed so hard it's just a shadow of what it was.

I'd say you turn back before it's too late, while the low tier ships may be great the high tier ships are utter garbage.

But it's your choice, just remember, i like to call the USN "WoWs hard mode"

USN cruisers? Meh after Omaha. Cleveland is ok if you can aim to orbit and back. After Cleveland it gets rough.

IJN cruisers (CL/CA) are very good, well-rounded ships.

KM cruisers are good except for Karl at T4 (crap)

RU cruisers are good, maybe with the exception of T2 and T7 (marginal), but are tougher to use properly.

 

Of course there are BBs and different kinds of DDs for more fun, plus CVs (I don't touch those except with HE and torps).

I play the USN line exclusively and yeah, it is a bit rough.  However the Omaha and Cleaveland are FAR from bad ships.  Once you get good at the guns, you can do a very decent amount of damage.  However I've heard the Des Moines is a very good CA with it's rediculous rate of fire and high caliber guns.

 

But, yeah the IJN CAs are the best.  They're guns are really good (besides ther USSR guns of course), plus you get good torpedoes (something I'm missing since the Omaha).

The BBs are AWSOME on the IJN line.  I was going to get the New Mexico on the USN BB lineup, but with how bad the New York was compared to the ARP Kongo I just got 3 weeks ago, now I'm convinced to go the IJN BB route.

Thanks for the replies and advice..all the ships so far are a lot of fun...Atlanta...Murmansk...Akagi...And yes the Cleveland...been playing against the AI and just started to get into the random stuff with actual humans..lots of fun so far
