Which nation is the most fun to you?

At the moment I'm LOVING the Kirov!!! Is the higher tier Russian CA/CL's this much fun? Which do you all jump too when you want to "try" and win or when you want to have a good time? Pro's? Con's? The only thing I hate about the Kirov atm is the turning radius, everything else seems really strong going up the line.

Well it depends.  I LOVE my destroyers and carriers on the USN lineup.  However the IJN BBs are more fun than the USN BBs, so I hope i can start grinding up the IJN BB line.

IJN BB and CV for me and US DD's. That's all I prefer.

I like the Russian DDs, the American BBs and CL/CAs, and the Japanese CAs.

I'm thinking I'll like US Cruisers more than German ones. I think I'll stop at the Konisburg because after that, they get too distanced from 6-12km engagements. I like close fights more than distanced ones. 

 

I've liked the US line all the way to the Omaha, but I really would rather play the Cleveland at tier VIII rather than tier VI, so I stopped. But I want a Pensacola, I'm torn... 

 

IJN has been a blast to tier VI, and looks fun the rest of the way up. 

 

Russian I'm only at tier IV.

For CL I love the IJN and the German. Good mix of things I can do with those guns and torps plus the move rather well. Furutaka with that six second rudder shift on the second hull . I usually go IJN on everything else except for CV.

I thought I was never going to say this, but at the moment I'm having the most fun with my USN ships, not just cruisers.  My Hiryu and Amagi are still solid performers for the most part, but for some reason it's just not fun to play either of them any more.  Let's also not start on the Izumo where I still haven't learned to pick the right flank to support.

 

Cleveland's shell arc never bothered me that much so I always like to play her: she's murderous at mid-range to any enemy, either by way of HE and fire or by AP and cits.  While she out-turns her turrets the sheer ROF means that once I dodge or mitigate an enemy salvo it's back to business in very short order.

 

New Mexico...where to begin.  I love her armor, the guns hit hard even against T8 enemies, and despite being slow she's quick to respond and nimble for a battleship.  Her AA is good too, and once her innate range issue is solved with APR1 you're more than capable of getting the jump on enemies.

 

Pensacola has been much kinder to me recently than the Myoko.  It's quite surprising, but my performance in Myoko is really hurting following the nerfs so maybe it's just that Pensacola isn't derping up yet.  Myoko lost 0.5km max range but didn't get her max dispersion reduced accordingly, the citadel feels as big as it should be (unfortunately that means any hit on the waterline is a cit): combined with the lag issues I've been having sporadically and you get 9 zero-damage rounds out of my last 16 Myoko games.

I like the USN BBs (up to Colorado), CLs (up to Cleveland) and the USN DDs (up to Farragut) as a group. The only American ships I don't like much are the carriers (Langley and Bogue are terrible and I have only had Independence for a week or so.)

 

The German CA/CLs are a mixed bag of great and horrible. (Hipper, Konigsberg, Nurenberg are great. I don't like Yorck and the lower tiers at all).

 

I'm not a fan of the low tier Japanese BBs or CL/CAs. They don't impress me much playing them or facing them. IJN carriers and DDs seem to be very nice as a group (I've only faced them.)

 

I've only faced the Russian cruisers but they haven't impressed me much. Their guns don't seem to punch that hard, but they make up for it with range and high ROF. Their armor seems to be made of glass ... all of them.

Their BB's have a lot of secondaries.  Granted the range is abysmal, but it's still something, especially in PvE.  Then by tier 5 you start getting really good range with main guns.

Their Cruisers have great torpedoes and decent all around.

Their DD can play the ninja and stay hidden.

 

In order for a nation to overtake the IJN they would at least need to have BBs with 5-10km range secondaries from the get go and good armor. OR have BB's with quickfiring/precise guns (hoping for ze Germans to have this).

However if comparing with WoT, I'm pretty sure the Russian line will be amazing once fully implemented.   The French might be unique enough to make it my favorite too.

we only have 2 complete lines so we really only have those to choose from.

 

I like them all but so far IJN is the best in terms of broadest quality up the tiers and across lines.
