It's a powerful little* pocket BB, with no armor to speak of, but those guns are just completely devastating. I just had a match recently where I got a citadel on a Fuso 10km out, and it isn't unusual to get 5-7k damage salvo's on close range BB's with AP. Even the torps can be effective, although I haven't as yet had much use for them except when I got myself into a sticky spot on about my 4th game in her. I've seen a lot of negativity surrounding the Kirov, and she doesn't really deserve any of it. The only real drawback to her is the shear size and a turning circle to match it. 130k+ damage, she can put out the damage really quickly, despite her longer reload. I think people forget just how terrible of a grind the Furutaka was compared to this... The reload on the Kirov is 7 seconds less, and has marginally less maximum AP damage, and what seems to be a far better fire % chance. Seven kills last night with the Budyonny. Budyonny looks like a fun ship. From what people say, it's a better NÜrnberg, but with a slightly stronger hull...? Mind you, I haven't had much luck with the tier 6 cruisers I've played so far. My best performing being the Aoba over the Cleveland. Kirov is ok ship, i love the guns and the damage, but she can't evade fire even from 16km away. I find it can, but I try and never be broadside to anyone. It has two triples on the front, so keeping them facing opposing ships is what I try and do - closing the gap a bit, then timing it so I can turn tail and rinse and repeat.
