commander skill points

I have reached the highest level of Admiral and 9999999 is the next number of commander XP to reach. I have 18 commander skill points and would like to attain more. Is there ANY WAY that I can get more than 18 points! Thanks.

This 1-10million thing is basically the game's way of limiting your maximum commander points to 18. I'd imagine that one day you'd reach 19, but not anytime soon.

Okay, new to the game, and I'm not a super gamer since is so far removed from the real thing - 20 years surface fleet. Anyway, what part of the experience goes toward my individual commander's advancement?
