* EDIT FIXED *

Rolled Back NVIDIA Driver and BOOM Very high Settings back to full FPS!

** EDIT 2 - NOT FIXED **

Was 60 FPS, task switched to desktop, then back... <20 !

---

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, i couldnt find a tech support section.

Up unti recently i ran wows on very high settings and had decent FPS, so much so i never noticed any FPS drop or any performance problems. over the past few weeks I have often fired up the game to be treated to a slow crawling 15fps for no obvious reason. often rebooting resolves this but sometimes it does not.

i've wored around this by setting everything to low and now i'm back to 60fps on low quality

i'm running an NVIDIX GTX 660 with the latest non-beta drivers, i7, 8GB, SSD

ive checked GPU clock speed to see if i've got a bitcoin mining virus, but GPU usage is <1% on desktop and 100% in game as expected.

Shadowplay is disabled

killing all nvidia services/apps in task manager makes no difference

anyone seen anytihgn like this with the latest WOWS updates? or latest NVIDIA driver updates?

I might also be on the wrong thread, butt... that is also my problem... I don't have any specific data to give you except to say that I have a VERY powerful workstation with 3 hard drives, one SSD, and 32 GB of ram.  Not only is the video sporatic, but the audio is distorted.  I also have NO CHANCE of surviving to the end of the game, as I often set up torpedo runs, only to have a blip as my torp's are enroute to next see that my target is half a screen away.  I've been tearing my system apart over this thinking that my equipment was melting down.  I'm quite relieved, although disappointed to have to find this out by investigating it.

might be internet issues. lag seems to cause all sorts of framerate issues in WoWs.

There was a major outage on friday in the north eastern region of NA and the line quality is still pretty bad.

still no better despite trying all the things suggested in the other posts.

You've enabled the game cache?

imo you don't want to use a low preset generally with games.  Put at max and shut off the FPS hogs like shadows and reflections if needed.

Sometimes the low preset will tell your PC to shift the load from the GPU to the CPU and anyone with a gaming GPU doesn't want that.

I read something about a bad NVidia driver you might look into that another thread mentions it.
