If you looked at it why would you add "looks like some sort of basketball thing" when it's pretty clear it's exactly about that.

While I believe the colors match the teams in the basketball playoffs (I don't follow it, so can't say myself), the patterns themselves are just recolors of the Type 3 "ranked" camo, and are not basketbally at all. They also cost the same and give the same benefits as the combined stealth/dispersion pattern.
