Curious to those who know the ship how you'd feel about it being implemented into the game in a Cl tree or a prem ship? Pretty cool looking ship that's similar to the cleveland but has the gun setup of the atlanta. So what are thoughts on putting the ship in game?

Looks like it could possibly fit Tier 6 or 7 in the CL line whenever they do split it as the Worcester.

More like tier 9.

Tier 10 as the Worcester probably in the CL line, Cleveland moves to 8, Fargo is tier 9. This was the only class to receive auto loading 6 inch DP guns. Think the Atlanta with 6 inch guns. So better AA, 10-12 RPM (12 was the max in trials, but it was supposed to have an RPM closer to 15; in pracitce it was no faster than the DM's 8 inchers), better range, and  better shell arc than the Atlanta, and more guns than the DM with better concealment, traverse, and maneuverability. It's also possible they will make the Tier 10 a proposal to turn the 6x2 turrets on the Worcester into 6x3 turrets, 6 inch turrets based on those of the 8 inch guns on the DM, with twice the fire rate, thus giving the Worcester enormous DPS, if they did this they would probably not increase the fire rate as it might be OP. (18 guns with 2200 max HE damage all able to train on one target 20 RPM would be absurd, but hey this game could use a powerful USN cruiser above T6)

Toward the end of World War 2, the Proximity Fuse (VT) was a real game changer in the world of AA.

These 6" guns could knock down a plane with 12 projectiles instead of the normal 120 or more conventional Flaq rounds.

Only fast moving, supersonic jets made a difference in the mid 1950s.

The nature of how devastating the VT rounds were was regarded as Secret until the 1970s.

In tests against formations of aircraft, the kill ratio was even more pronounced.

And so - possibly facing against this technology, we held on to our Battleships a little longer.

There were stats and models for the Worcester found in the game files back in August (http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/24927-2-new-us-tier-10-ca-patch-41/#topmost). In addition, the Worcester has been mentioned more recently in the Krupp value list (which I can't seem to find at the moment) and the datamined 0.5.3 changes (http://thearmoredpatrol.com/2016/02/01/wows-aa-changes-in-patch-0-5-3/).

I'm very excited for the eventual addition of this ship. With full concealment it should have a 9.54km surface detection, and a 13.55km invisi-fire range, making it by far the stealthiest T10 cruiser. In addition, due to the insane turret traverse (7.2s base) and the dubious value of the 6"/47 beyond 15km, taking the rate of fire module should prove to be a no-brainer, giving it a 4.4s reload and a still amazing ~9.2s 180 turret traverse. The AA will be god-tier because the 3"/50 got turbobuffed last patch (Worcester should have something close to 335 dps on this battery), and the DP 6"/47 will likely become, barrel for barrel, the most powerful AA gun in the game. Lastly, now with radar in the game and the Worcester likely getting the same equipment as the Des Moines (9.9km/40s), the Worcester's stealth and agile armament should turn it into one of the best ships for clearing enemy DDs off of caps.

It does appear to have some downsides though. First off it will struggle bow on, because unlike the Atlanta, only two of the Worcester's turrets are superfiring, meaning it can only fire 4 barrels when harshly angled. To bring your full 12 barrels to bear, the Worcester will likely have to expose a fair amount of its broadside, and the belt is only 127mm. A 127mm belt is pretty thin by T10 standards, but this isn't the worst flaw to have: for cruisers bow armor is more important than belt armor, and the Worcester's 25mm bow is no different than the other T10s (save the Des Moines 27mm bow). Regardless, its still an issue because of the turret arrangement. The other issue is the low-velocity 6"/47 gun, which will struggle to score hits at range, more so than the Des Moines. The Worcester will have a very bad time if its forced to play in the current T10 meta, which favors long-range gunnery duels and torpedo walls launched from beyond radar range.

At the end of the day, the Worcester is still very much in development (though I suspect it might be difficulties in splitting the USN cruiser line at the mid-tiers that is delaying the release of a USN CL line, as opposed to issues balancing the Worcester), and all the information I've based my speculation on is liable to change, so take this with a grain of salt. Enjoy your hype!
